• R eplace the cov er on t he batter y compar tment. If the batter ies are too w eak, t his is indicated on the screen b y a f lashing symbol . Mains connection • Connect the plug of t he mains adapter to the EXT. DC 7 .5 V 400 mA sock et on the side of t he device.
General functions K e y loc k In order to pr ev ent changing the settings unintentionally by touching the buttons, y ou can activate the k ey lock. • Press and hold do wn t he MEM button for ar ound 3 seconds. On screen, the message flashes. All buttons, ex cept t he buttons SNOOZE and MEM , are no w block ed.
The time functions can only be set when the radio is switched of f. If an RDS signal is not receiv ed at t he first switch-on, t he pre-adjusted time for the multi-band radio begins with "0:00 00". If the device is disconnected fr om its po w er supply the settings are lost.
Setting cloc k time • Press MODE once. The most r ecently set time f lashes on the screen. • Press the UP or DOWN button to mov e t he time for war d or backwar d at minute inter v als. Hold do wn one of the buttons for a few seconds to mo ve the setting for ward or backw ard quickly at 10 minute inter v als.
Setting t he time zone • Press MODE again or three times. The select ed time zone flashes on the screen as the abbre viation for t he corresponding city ( UT C when first switched on); the time disappears. • Press the UP or DOWN button to mo ve the time zone for ward or backw ard.

Special date alar m • Press the MODE button a fif th time to set t he special date alarm. The screen flashes SD A1 and the date in succession. • Press the PA G E button to select one of t he ten settable date alarms ( SD A1 – SD A 10 ). • Press the UP or DOWN button to set the date on which t he alarm should sound.
Switc h Automatic Update (RDS) On/Of f With t his function the device can automatically update the settings for date and time from the RDS signal. • Pr ess t he button MODE nine times. In t he display the indication UPD A ON appears. • Press the button DOWN to switch the automatic update of f.
Setting t he alar m time Y ou can set tw o alar m times in y our world r eceiver . • Wit h t he radio switched of f, press the buttons VOL.+/AL–1 (or VOL.-/AL–2 ). The screen sho ws the most recently set alarm time and the symbol for the alar m type.
• Press the SNOOZE button until the desired alarm days are set. Hold do wn the SNOOZE button until t he screen sho ws an individual w eek day . • Press the SNOOZE button to set the desired w eek day . T o go back to selecting week days, w eek end or ever y day , brief ly hold do wn the SNOOZE button again.
Set snooze time • With t he radio switched of f, press the button MODE sev en times. The screen d i s p l a y s t h e s nooze time set (default is” SN O 10 ”). • Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set t he snooze time to a time between 1 and 59 minutes.
• Press the UP or DOWN button to set the desired time. 5 countdo wn times are pr eset on t he memor y buttons and you can open these directly using the corresponding memor y button: Button M.0/5 10:00 Button M. 1/6 30:00 Button M.2/7 45:00 Button M.
R adio operation Switc hing on/v olume control • Press the POWER button to switch t he radio on. ON will appear briefly on the screen, follo w ed by the current fr equency and band selection. • Press the VOL.+/AL–1 or VOL.–/AL–2 button to contr ol the volume: Button VOL.
Sleep function Y ou can activ ate t he sleep function via the SNOOZE button. Y ou can set a time of up to 90 minutes in ten-minute steps, af ter which the radio will auto- matically turn itself of f. T o do so, f irst switch the radio of f. • Press the SNOOZE button.
Fine tuning If a station can not be found precisely the fine tuning can be use to improv e reception. • During t he channel search pr ess t he FINE button, t he screen sho ws FINE . • Now , using t he buttons UP resp. DOWN , adjust the requir ed reception range with smaller frequency steps.
Memor y functions Sav e st ation The w orld receiv er can save 400 stations in each fr equency range. T o store a station, proceed as follo ws: • Set the frequency range with the frequency selection switch and then the station t hat y ou want to sav e.
Selecting a sav ed st ation • In order to select a saved station dir ectly , f irst use the frequency selection switch to select the frequency range wher e t he station is saved. • Press the PA G E button and t hen use the UP or DOWN buttons to select a memor y page (fr om 00–39).
Cleaning Risk of injury from electric shock: • Disconnect the de vice from the mains po wer before cleaning it! • Ne ver immerse the de vice’ s par ts into water or other liquids! • Do not allow liq uid to penetr ate the housing.
