- 2 - Universal Batter y Charg er KH 980 Intended Use The Universal Battery Charger is intended ex clusively for: • the charging of rechar gable Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries with the sizes AAA/AA/C/D and 9 V Block. • domestic use only , it is not intended for commer- cial use.
- 3 - Danger of electrical shock! Do not place the Universal Battery Charger: • in the close vicinit y of water , e. g. baths and swimming pools. Should water permeate into the Universal Battery Charger , the appliance could be irreparably damaged. • Remo ve the power cable fr om the plug socket before cleaning the Univ ersal Batter y Charger .
- 4 - Commissioning • Before taking the Univ ersal Batter y Charger into use, check that all items are complete/av ailable and free of visible damage. • Place the Universal Battery Charger on a straight, lev el, scratch and slip resistant surface.
- 5 - When the batter y capacit y has been determined, the charging pr ocess begins. The various displays hav e the following meanings: The LED blinks alternatively r ed and green: The batteries are being discharged for max.10 minutes (Refr esh-Function).

- 7 - Cleaning Clean the housing of the Universal Battery Charger only with a dr y cloth. For stubborn soiling use a lightly moistened cloth. When cleaning ensure that no moisture can permeate into the Univer sal Batter y Charger! Ne ver clean the insides of the char ging slots with moist cloths.
