- 5 - The two supplied 7 inch L CD monitors, which con- nect to the DVD play er , are pr ovided for image and sound outputs. Important! No liability/warranty will be assumed for damage resulting from improper use of the device! 3.
- 6 - • Do not operate the D VD player in cupboards, on shelves, in the glove compartment or other enclosed furnishings as well as not on beds and co vers be cause the ventilation of the DVD play er will be impaired and it could o verheat.
- 7 - Notice regarding surge voltages (FEO / fast electrical overloads): In a case of malfunction due to an electrical fast tran- sient (pow er surge) the pr oduct must be returned to default settings in order to re-establish normal oper a- tion. It is possible that the pow er supply will have to be disconnected and then reconnected again.

- 9 - 5.3 Preparing the remote control Inserting the battery The remote contr ol requires a battery of the t ype CR2025/3V button cell (supplied): 1. Pull the batter y compartment out of the remote control. 2. Now place the supplied battery , of the t ype CR2025 (button cell) in the batter y compart- ment.
- 10 - 5. Before fastening, place the elastic safety strap that is secured to the L CD monitor , around the headrest and/or headrest mounting. 6. Hold the L CD monitor against the headrest and pull the V elcro strap fr om the inside to the outside, through the plastic tab.
- 11 - Important! Never mount the device and monitors in the vehicle whilst it is in motion! There is a considerable risk of injury in the event of an accident! Use the device mounted in the vehicle only when the vehicle is standing still. Make sure that the device is securely packed aw ay in the supplied carrying case whilst driving.
- 12 - Making a power connection with the vehicle adapter 1. Plug the device plug of the v ehicle adapter in the socket DC IN 12V 4@ on the side of the device. 2. Plug the vehicle adapter into a suitable 12V socket, for e xample the cigarette lighter con- nection in the vehicle.
- 13 - Audio connection with a stereo system 1. Switch the DVD play er and your stereo system off before making connections. 2. Connect the jack plug of the supplied A V cable with the A V -OUT output 3% on the DVD play er. 3. Connect the red/white cinch cable for the sound signal with a sound input (red/white) on your ster eo system.

If headphones are connected to the D VD player or the L CD monitors there will be no sound out- put from the A V output 3% of the DVD play er or f rom the built in speak ers on the LCD monitor s 5) . Important! Listening to music over long periods with full volume on headphones can lead to hearing damage 7.
- 15 - MultiMediaCard /SecureDigital memory cards (MMC/SD) Slide the MultiMediaCard/SecureDigital memory card straight and with the contacts in fr ont into the memor y card slot 4$ . For this purpose... - the side of the memor y card that contains the contacts must face up.
- 16 - 8.4 Playback procedure for a memory card: If you hav e correctly inser ted a memor y card or a USB memor y stick into the SilverCrest D VD player and pressed the button USB/CARD/DVD 1@ on the remote contr ol, the player automatically r ecognizes the folders and data that exist on the memory medium.

The setup menu The DVD play er has a screen menu available, in which you can carry out image and sound settings as well as other functions such as, for ex ample, activation of the child lock. When you carry out changes in the setup menu, these changes are sav ed ev en when the device is switched off.
- 18 - Angle Mark On some DVDs particular scenes are recor ded from various vie wing angles. • Select the input ON in order to switch to the ne xt viewing angle b y pressing the ANGLE 2% button during playback of the film. • T o deactivate this function select the input OFF .
- 19 - Hue Set with the aid of the buttons 3! o the hue. The further the controller is pushed to the right the warmer the entire image becomes. On the other hand pushed to the left the image radiates a cooler ambience. • Subsequently press the button ENTER 1& to continue.
- 20 - 5 PGR : for teenagers under 16, adult super vision is recommended; 4 PG 13 : adult super vision strongly recommended; some scenes are not suitable for children under 12; 3 PG : adult super vision recommended; 2 G. : for all age groups; 1 KID SAF .
- 21 - 11. Sound functions 11.1 To control the Volume • With the buttons VOL+/- 1! , the volume contr ol on the device 3* or on the L CD monitors 5^ you in- crease and/or decrease the v olume. 11.2 Mute • Press the button MUTE 3# to switch the sound off.
- 22 - Pause playback T o pause the playback: • During playback press the button PLA Y/P AUSE r . The prompt appears in the display . The display shows a fr eeze frame of the scene you have just paused. • T o continue playback of the film press the button PLA Y/P AUSE r .
- 23 - Note: With playback of MPEG4 files the speed of search forward and search backwards can be limited. This is data dependent and not a device malfunction. 12.4 Slow motion function (DVD, VCD, S-VCD and DivX only) • Press the button SLOW 1$ to set playback to slow motion.
- 24 - T o switch on repeat playback... • Press se ver al times, during playback, the button REPEA T u . The repeat symbol appears in the display with one of the following notifications: CHAPTER Sel.
- 25 - 12.10 Direct chapter, title or time selection via the search function Note: This function may not be available on all DVDs/ VCDs/S-VCDs! If you attempt to carry out func- tions that are not available the symbol will appear in the display. If you do not w ant to playback the entire disc you can select a particular chapter/time position.

- 29 - 14 Displa y of MP3/ WMA/JPEG/A VI/ MPEG and DivX data • Insert a storage medium into the DVD player . The contents of the data medium will be shown on the display: Display of MP3 data Display of JPEG data Display of AVI, MPEG and DivX data • The data will be listed on the left (Data window).
