8 Electrical Requirements Observe all governi ng codes and ordinances. Ensure that the electrical inst allation is adequat e and in conformance with Na tional Electrical Code, ANSI/NFP A 70 (lat est edition), or CSA Standards C22.1- 94, Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 and C22.
9 2. T o wire th rou gh top : Mark a line distance “A” from the left of the centerline on the underside of the cabine t. Mark th e point on this l ine that is 2" (5.1 cm) from back wall. Drill a 1¼" (3.2 cm) diameter hole through the cabinet at this point.
10 4. Use saber or keyhole saw to cut the circular vent open ing. Install V ent System 1. Install vent through the vent opening in upper cabinet or wall. Complete venting system accordin g to the selected venting method. See “V enting Require ments” section.
11 For non-vented (r ecir culating) installations, the bl ower position must be changed: ■ Remove screws and r ear support. ■ Remove the blower mounting scre ws. Push up on the blower to deta ch the blower from the mounting plate. ■ Remove the vent knockout fr om the fr ont mounting plate.
12 Make Electrical Connection 1. Disconnect power . 2. Use UL listed wire connectors and conne ct the black wires (B) together . 3. Use UL listed wire connectors and connect the white w ires (A) together .
13 RANGE HOOD USE The range hood is designed to re move smoke, cooking vapors and odors from the cooktop ar ea. For best results, start the hood before cooking and allow it to operate several minutes after the cooking is complete to clear all smoke and odors from the kitchen.
14 Ti me r The timer can be set from 1 to 60 minutes. The default timer setting is 10 minutes. T o use the timer: 1. Press the Tim er button to enter the timer mode.
15 Non-V ented (Recirc ulating) Installation Filters The char coal filter is not washable. It should la st up to 6 months with normal use. Replace with Charc oal Filter Kit Number W10272068.
