To prevent damage to the tank and heating ele- J ment, the tank must be filled with water. Water must J flow from the hot water faucet before turning "ON" power.

Remove the two screws securing the access panel, and remove panel. 3. Remove tape and the insulation pad to expose the terminal cover over the element.
