11 1 Preparing and using for the first time Precondition: The bean container has been filled. T Insert the mains plug into a power sock et. 3 T Switc h on the IMPRESSA using the po wer switc h on the back of the machine . Q T Press the On/Off button to switch the IMPRES SA on.
12 1 Preparing and using for the first time T Place a recep tacle (at least 300 ml) under the fine foam frother and the coffee spout. l T T urn the switch to the m position. ‘Filter is being rinsed’ , w ater flo ws out of the fine foam frother .

14 1 Preparing and using for the first time Y our IMPRESSA creates fine , creamy , feather -light milk foam with a perfec t consistency . The most import ant requirement for frothing milk is a milk temperatur e of 4–8 °C. We would theref ore recom - mend using a milk cooler or a vacuum milk container .
15 2 Preparation 2 Prepar ation E Y ou c an stop the machine at an y time while a speciality coffee , steam or hot wa ter is being prepared. Just press an y button (for a speciality coffee) or return the swit ch to its original posi - tion (for steam and hot w ater).

Y ou can adjust the grinder o n a continuous scale to suit the degree of roast of y our coffee .
22 2 Preparation T Open the storage c ompartment cover , take out the hot - wat er nozzle and close the co ver again. T Attach the hot -w ater nozzle to the c onnector . T Place a cup under the hot -water nozzle . l T T urn the switch to the m position.

36 5 Maintenance E This chapter applies to the profes sional fine foam frother and the fine foam frother . After each milk prepara tion, the IMPRESSA prompts you to perform a cappuccino rinse. Precondition: ‘Rinse the milk system ’ is display ed.
37 5 Maintenance T Immerse the milk pipe in the receptacle. T Place a recep tacle under the fine foam frother . T Press the ‘Ne x t’ button. ‘Cappuccino cleaning’ As soon as the machine has heated up, ‘S witch open ’ appears. l T T urn the switch to the m position.
38 5 Maintenance T Dismantle the fine foam frother int o its individual par t s. T Rinse all the parts of the fine foam frother thoroughly under running water . If there are se verely dried-on milk residues, firstly immerse the individual par ts in JURA mi lk system cleaner and then rinse them thoroughly .
39 5 Maintenance T Inser t the CLARIS Blue filter car tridge into the wat er tank, exerting slight pressure . T Close the filter holder . It will click into place audibly . E After t wo months, the filter will cease to w ork. Set the date on the date plate on the filter holder in the w ater tank.

The IMPRESSA builds up deposits of limescale ov er time and auto - matically prompts you to descale it when necessary .
