9 DA TE AND TIME SET UP DISPLA Y The best ti me to set up the Date a nd T ime is during in stallation, a s f ollows: Upon installation the display will automatically show step by step prompts to guide you through the Date a nd Ti me setup procedure. This procedure ca n also be used at a ny time to cha nge the ti me a nd date settings.

13 ALPHA-NUMERIC KEYP AD In addition to normal di alling, the alphabetic chara cters are provided on the keys to enter na mes in the Direct Access a nd Directory me mories a s well a s a ny online a pplications that require alphabetic keystrokes. RESET KEY Press to restore normal operation of the telephone in ca se of a malfunction or lock-up.
14 REDIAL KEY Press to redi al the la st number la st dialed, which may be up to 32 digits long. When pressed while still on-line, the telephone will clear the call a nd retry the number .
15 HANDSFREE/HEADSET KEY AND INDICA TO R The HANDSFREE/HEADSET Key ha s a n auto-detection function; which disables the Ha nds free mode when a He a dset is in use. When the HANDSFREE/HEADSET Key is pressed, a red indicator will glow to show that the Ha nds free or Hea dset mode is a ctivated.
16 BA TTERY COMP A RTMENT As a precaution against the potenti al f or an interruption of main s power to affe ct the progress of a ny ongoing call, 4 x AA al k aline batterie s ca n be fitted to the compartment (they ca n provide up to one month’s support of all functions while main s power is absent).

18 4. HANDSFREE OPERA TION T o commence a Ha ndsfree call press HANDSFREE/HEADSET; the tele phone will a ctivate the line, a nd the Spea ker , a nd the Indicator will switch on to provide confirmation. Di aling a nd speech ca n then commence. Pressing the key again will termin ate the call.
19 HINTS FOR HANDSFREE OPERA TION As a courtesy , tell the other party that you are using the Ha ndsfree function. He/She may or may not wa nt people other tha n you to hear the conversation. A quiet environment ensure s best Ha ndsfree perf orma nce.

21 Silent Ringing Designed for call centre s or a ny a pplication where call-related noise is to be kept to a minimum, this feature allows incoming calls to ring silently; the operator is aware of the incoming call, but the telephone does not add to the room noise even when ringing.

23 Direct Acce ss Memory Ca pa city Ea ch memory ca n store up to 32 digits plus Pause, , Recall (Fla sh) a nd a Ha ndsfree code. Speed-Dialling (Storable Handsfree code) When storing a number , you ca n add a “Ha ndsfree” comma nd to the start of the number .
24 4. Press HANDSFREE/HEADSET; the DISPLA Y will show “H” in the number field. If this is not required, go to step 5 without pressing HANDSFREE/HEADSET 5. Enter the telephone number a nd press ST ORE 6. Enter the na me by using the Keypad a nd pre ss ST ORE to confirm; the display will show “MEMORY STORED”.
25 T o progra m or alter the contents of a protected Dire ct Access me mory: 1. Remove the me mory card pa per insert below the top row of Direct Access memory keys to reveal the MEMORY PROTECTION SWITCH 2. Move the MEMOR Y PROTECTION SWITCH to the “Non-Protected” position a s shown in Figure 4 3.
26 DIRECTORY MEMORY The Directory Memory work s like the memory of a typical mobile phone, with the storage of na mes with numbers and na me searching ca pability . The keys on the Keypa d allow the entering of alpha a nd numeric chara cters in the n a me field.
27 T o dial from the Directory Me mory using Na me Search 1. Press DIRECTORY , the first entry in the dire ctory will be displayed 2. Enter the first Alpha Numeric chara cter of the n a me you wish to di al 3. Use Scroll or to find the na me 4. Pre ss DIAL to di al it out.
28 Using the 5-Stack La st Number Redi al Me mory 1. T o dial the most recently dialled number , press REDIAL. If you require a n earlier number go to step 2, otherwise proceed to step 3 2. Press Scroll or to select a number from the 5 redial memories.
29 This section a ssumes that you are using the IQ750 in a network that is ca pa ble of supplying Caller ID data in the Bellcore G R-30-CORE format. In a ddition, you may need to request or subscribe to Caller ID a nd Call W aiting Services from your network provider before Caller ID data will be sent by the network.
30 In addition, the Caller List ca n be used a s a convenient source of progra mming data – the details of a ny previous incoming calls found in the Caller List ca n be stored in the Direct Access m.

34 8. AD V ANCED NETWORK OPERA TION Where this telephone is used on a n intelligent network such a s Ea sycall, Customnet, Centel, Spectrum, a P ABX or any Centrex Networks, the f ollowing inf ormation may be useful.
35 P AUSE FUNCTION WHEN DIALING OUT Sometimes a pause is necessary either when dialling ordirnary outgoing calls, a ccessing specialised network fe atures or perha ps when storing certain numbers in the memory. If you have determined that a pause is required by your host system, plea se refer to the information below .
36 P AUSE TIME Sometime s the sta ndard Pause time of 1 Second may be in a ppropri ate, such a s when a shorter Pause is needed to slow down a code stored in memory so that the telephone does not dial too quickly for the network.
37 If two Pauses (i.e. 200 mSec) do not produce a long enough post-Recall pause for the network switch, try three pauses (300mSec) or four (400mSec) or more. The Pause ti me setting remains set until the user cha nges it - removal of power sources or line connection will not cha nge the setting.

42 TO MAKE A HEADSET MIC LEVEL ADJUSTMENT With the Hea dset connected a s per the instructions in this ma nual: 1. Put the Hea dset on a nd lift the Ha ndset to your other ear a nd ma ke an outgoing call 2. Pressing the HANDSFREE/HEADSET Key , swa p between Ha ndset a nd Headset modes (the indicator will illumin ate when the He a dset is in use).
43 HEADSET POLARITY SWITCH Located on the underside of the telephone (see Figure 8), this switch provides compatibility with the two commonly-used hea dset wiring sta ndards. Position “V” suits Pla ntronics V ista Cords a nd other Hea dsets wired in the sa me configuration (also known a s “reversed” wiring mode).

45 10. GENERAL CARE AND MAINTENANCE This telephone is a precision ele ctronic instrument. While in use a nd storage, care should be ta ken to avoid rough ha ndling, extreme temperature, a nd da mp or dirty environments. CLEANING NEVER use a erosol sprays or other chemical agents or substa nces that leave a residue (furniture polish for exa mple).
