The backplanes provide the platform support for peripheral drives and hot-swap SAS or SA T A hard drives.

3 Har dware Installations and Upgrades Bef ore Y ou Begin Before working with your server product, pay close attention to the “Safety Information” at the beginning of this manual.
22 Intel ® Server System SR1500AL User’s Guide Fixed Brac ket Rack Mount Installation 1. Fully extend a rail asse mbly; the finger tab for the extension lock is revealed. 2. Press the finger tab and slide the inside rail from the middle rail until it completely separates.
Intel ® Server System SR1500AL User’s Guide 23 22. Fully extend the left and ri ght rails un til the extension locks have engaged and the rails will not push back in. The rail sy stem is now ready to receive the chassis. Caution: Lifting and placing the chassis in the rails is a two-person job.

4 Ser ver Utilities Using the BIOS Setup Utility This section describes the BIOS Setup Utility options, which is used to change server configuration defau lts.

Appendix B: T roub leshooting This chapter helps you identify and solve problems that mi ght occur while you are using the system. For any issue, first ensure you are using the latest firmware and files. Firmware upgrades include updates for BIOS, the Baseboard Ma nagement Controller (BMC), and the hot- swap controller (HSC).
