2 Chapter 1 Getting Started Safety Instructions Parts inform ation Power Sources Safety Instructions Storage: Never use or store the play er in cold, hot, humid, or dusty places. Do not leave the c over open if the play e r is not being used for a long time.

Open butto n: Press to open the disc cover. Note: Do not open the cove r while play ing, or the play er will be Turned off automatica lly .

5 Parts Instruction 15. PLAY MODE button: Sets the play back mode (refer to Chapter 2 for detailed information). 16. REP/ ENT button: Sets repea t play back of CD and MP3 discs. Also use d to enter in prog ramming status. 17. DIR/REC: Use to toggle between DIR and FIL E mode when play ing the MP3 disk.
6 Power Sources Using Batteri es: I nsert two 1.5V AA batteries into the battery case. Note : Your play er will be damaged if y ou try to charge non-rechargable batteries. Take batteries (non-rechargable) out when the external power is being used. Remove batter ies if the play er is not g oing to be use d for a long time .

8 Play m odes Using the P LAY MODES button, y ou can select various modes of play back. Continuous P layback: 1. Switch RESU/NOR/HOLD to NOR or RESU . 2. Switch PLAYER/RECORDER to PLAYER . 3. Press the PLAY button. Note : When play ing a scratched or dirty disc, press the DIR/RE C button once to turn on EPS .
9 Using the Program and the Repeat Modes You can use the program mode to create a sequence of songs in a custom order. 1. Press FORWARD or REWIND to select the track number to program. 2. Press REP/ENT once to add the track to the sequence. 3. I f y ou want to delete the last track y ou programmed, press REWIND until the number decreases by one.
10 Using Directories When dealing with the capability for hours of music, obviously y ou are going to want some form of organization. Max-300 MP3/CD Play er supports multiple directories for organizing the tracks on y our CD. Tracks are arranged in alphabetical order by directory .
11 Using the DIR PROGRAM m ode You can use the DIR Program mode to easily add all of the tracks in a specified directory to a sequence. 1. Press the PLAY MODE button until DIR PROG display s in the screen and the DIR No . is flashing. 2. Using FORWARD or REWIND , select the directory you want to add.
