41959-01 6 Operation Initial Operation This section provides basic instructions on the use of your air purif ier . After following these initial directions, please continue reading this booklet to learn how to operate the more advanced features of your air purif ier .

41959-01 8 Operation Remote Operation F or your con venience, a remote control is pro vided with this air purifier . The remote may be used to turn the air purifier on or of f and adjust the f an speed. Operating the Air Purifier with the remote: 1. Install two AAA batteries (UM-4 or IEC R03 or equiv alent).
9 41959-01 Operation Display Modes Y our air purifier has 3 display modes – Clock Display , Pre-Filter Display , and Filter Dis- play . When the unit is running, the display also pro vides additional information about the settings of the air purifier .
41959-01 10 Operation Manual and A uto Operating Modes Y our Hunter Air Purif ier has two distinct operating modes – Manual and Auto. The Manual Mode allo ws you to ov erride the control programs that hav e been set and to hold the settings until you adjust them.
11 41959-01 Operation Using the Ionizer Using the ionizer improv es the quality of air in the room. Negati ve ions are released into the air and positi vely char ged dust, smoke, and pollen particles are attracted to the neg ati ve ions. These particles settle out of the air and can be v acuumed up during normal cleaning.
41959-01 12 Operation Override of A uto Mode Y ou can use two differ ent methods to over ride Auto Mode. If you choose temporary over - ride, the air purifier will run at the temporary setting until the ne xt scheduled program change. Permanent ov erride will remain in effect until you return the unit to auto mode.
13 41959-01 Operation Filter Run-Time Counters The pre-filter and f ilter are critical to the proper operation of the air purif ier . T o help you know when to change the f ilters, your Hunter Air Purifier has Filter Run-T ime Counters that will monitor the number of hours your filters ha ve been in use.
41959-01 14 Pr ogramming Setting Day and Time Setting the correct day and time allows the programs to w ork ef fectiv ely and provides a clock for your reference. Although the instructions for setting the day and time are listed under Initial Operation, they are repeated belo w for your con venience.

19 41959-01 Programming Resetting the Air Purifier In the unusual situation that the unit or the display is exhibiting erratic beha vior , you may w ant to reset the air purif ier . Since you will lose all of your programmed settings when the unit is reset, you should consult the T r oubleshooting section (pg.
41959-01 20 Air Purifier Maintenance Cleaning Y our Air Purifier Proper maintenance of your Hunter Air Purifier will help ensure years of trouble free service. F ollow these steps to properly maintain your air purifier: 1. Approximately ev ery 90 days, the outside of the unit should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
