32 Using Phone F eatures 3.1 Using the Phone Like a standard mobile phone, y ou can use your device to make , receive , and keep track of calls and send SMS/MMS messages. 92 Getting Connected 10.1 C omm Manager Comm Manager acts like a central switcher tha t lets you enable or disable phone featur es as well as manage your data connections easily . T o open Comm Manager • T ap the Comm Manager icon ( ) on the T oday screen.

W i-F i Wi-F i provides wir eless Internet access over distances of up t o 100 meters. T o access the Internet via Wi-F i on your device , you need access to a wir eless network or hotspot.
94 Getting Connected Note Wi-F i networks are self-discoverable , which means no additional steps are required f or your device to connect to a Wi-F i network. I t may be necessary to provide a username and password f or cer tain closed wireless networks, however .

Settings for connecting to V erizon ’ s 1xRT T/EVDO network are already prec onfigured on your device , and your device is ready to c onnect to the I nternet.
