Getting Started 19 1.3 The Home Screen The Home screen displays important information, such as upcoming appointments, status indicat ors, the current date , time, profile and icons of programs that y ou have recen tly used. Y ou can open a program directly by selecting its icon and pressing ENTER.

Getting Started 23 1.5 Using the Start Menu The Start menu is located at the bottom-left corner of the Home screen and displays various progr am icons that are spread acr oss one or more screens. T o see the available programs in the Start menu • On the Home screen, click Start .
24 Getting Started 1.7 Entering Informa tion Y ou can enter text and numbers by using the keypad. The phone supports three input modes for ent ering text and numbers: Multipress , T9 and Numeric . Multipress and T9 modes are used for en tering text, and Numeric mode is used for entering numbers.

30 Using Phone F eatures 2.1 Using the Phone Y ou can use your phone to make, receive and keep tr ack of calls, and send text messages (SMS, Short M essage Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) messages. Y ou can also dial a phone number dir ectly from Contacts, and easily cop y SIM contacts to Contacts on the phone.

36 Using Phone F eatures T o mute a call Click Mute during a call, so that you can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you. When the microphone is turned off , the mute icon ( ) appears on the screen. Click Unmute to turn on the microphone again.

Y ou can gain access to all featur es and programs from the Home scr een. The top of the Home screen display s icons for the prog rams that you have most recently used.
