3 Get ting Started Attaching the Wrist Strap Insert the short loop of the str ap in the strap 1. eyelet. Thread the larger loop of the str ap though the 2. short loop and pull tight to attach the str ap to the camera. 15 Using Quick - S et Bar The Quick -Set Bar acts as a shortcut menu to adjust basic settings in R ecord and Playback Mode. The menu icons show the current settings f or each function.

18 R ecording Photos, Videos and V oices Taking Photos Now that you are f amiliar with your camera, y ou are now ready to take your photos. T urn on the camera b y pressing the Power but ton. 1. Frame the shot using the f ocus bracket on the L CD 2. screen.
19 Using the Image Stabilizer Press the Stabilizer button on top of y our camera to enable/disable this function. B y • enabling the digital image stabilizer , the camer a will automatically enhance the sensitivity (ISO speed) to faster shutter speeds to help r educe blurring caused by movement of the camera.

21 Icon Item Description Sports This feature captures still images in high speed motions. Party This feature is used for wedding or indoor party settings.
22 Using Intelligent Scene Mode With the Intelligent Scene Mode, the camera automatically detects the shooting conditions and switches to the appropriate scene and settings when aiming on a subject. This f eature is most useful for no vice users to capture great images even without basic knowledge of photogr aphy .
23 The table below shows the modes supported by Intelligent scene: Icon Intelligent Scene Modes Description Portrait This mode is set when a face is detected. Backlight This mode is set when a face is detected with an EV setting greater than 2.5. Landscape This mode is set when: There is no face detected.
24 When a smile is detected, the camera will f ocus on the subject and the yellow frame turns 4. green. Then, the camer a will automatically take a shot of the subject. It will continuously take shots whenever a smile is detected. T o stop shooting, press the shut ter button again.
25 Setting Flash When taking pictures in difcult lighting conditions, use the Flash to get correct exposure. This function cannot be activ ated in recording movies or continuous shooting. T ap 1. > Flash mode icon. T ap your desired ash mode.
26 Setting Snapshot Menu The Snapshot menu allows you to adjust other capture set tings. Some menu functions may be disabled depending on current scene mode. In Shooting mode T ap 1. > > . T ap 2. to move to the next/ previous page of menu selection.
27 Quality The Quality function lets y ou adjust the quality settings of your photos befor e you capture them. The quality determines the amount of compression applied to your photos. Less le compression results in a more detailed image. Howev er , the higher the quality , the more memory space is requir ed in your memory card.
28 AF Area Automatic F ocus (AF) determines the area on which the camera f ocuses. The table below shows the av ailable AF area settings. Center Wide Manual AF Area 1/2 Icon Item Description Center The focus area is xed on the center . Wide The camera automatically selects focus area within the wide frame.
29 • In T ouch Shot mode, release your nger , the camer a automatically captures the image. After capturing the image, the yellow focus f rame remains on the position where y our nger released it. Photo Frame The Photo Fram e function allows users to capture image enclosed in a fr ame for added effects.
30 Contrast This function allows you to adjust the contr ast of your photos. The table below shows the av ailable Contrast settings. Icon Item Description High Enhances the contrast. 31 Self - Timer/Burst Mode Y our camera f eatures a Self-timer and Burst which can be set in the Self -timer/ B urst function. The Self -timer allows you to take photos after a pre-dened dela y . While burst lets you take consecutive shots. This function is only a vailable in recor ding still images.

39 Adding Photo Frame F or a more artistic effect, you can f rame your still images using the Photo Fr ame function. This function is for still images only . However , photo fr ame is not available f or images captured in 16:9 image size. View the image you want to add photo f rame to.
40 Setting Playback Menu The Playback menu allows you to edit images, delete les, records voice memo , and setup other playback settings. T o go to Playback Menu: T ap 1. > > . T o 2. or select an item, tap the icon. T o change the submenu settings, tap the icon of 3.
41 Voice Memo The V oice Memo function allows you to record and attach a v oice memo to a saved image. Y ou can record a maximum of 20 seconds of V oice memo per image. This function is only av ailable for still images. T o record voice memo: View image to attach voice memo on the L CD screen.
42 Red-Eye Removal The Red-Ey e Remov al function is used to reduce r ed-eye in captured images. This function is only av ailable for still images. R ed-eye Remov al can be applied to an image sever al times, but the quality may gr adually deteriorate.
43 Using the Set ting Menu Setting menu allows you to congure gener al camera set tings. Submenu options may vary depending on the current mode. Unav ailable options are disabled. T o go to Setting Menu: T ap 1. > > . T ap 2. or to move to the next/ previous page of menu selection.
44 Setting Digital Zoom This feature controls the digital z oom mode of your camera. Y our camera enlarges an image using the optical zoom rst. When the zoom scale ex ceeds 3x, the camera uses digital zoom. T o set Digital Z oom From the Setting menu, tap Digital Z oom.

47 Making Connections Connecting the Camera to a PC Y ou can transf er photos, videos and audio les to your PC. Connect the camera to a PC using the USB 1. cable. T urn on the camera. 2. 48 Connecting the Camera to a Printer Y ou can print your photos directly using a PictBridge compatible printer . PictBridge allows you to print images captured by your camer a without connecting the camera to a PC. Print images with a PictBridge compatible printer directly .
