1 Product Feature s The flat panel display has an acti ve matrix, thin-f ilm transistor (TFT), liquid crystal display (LCD). The monitor features include: ■ 19-inch/48.3 cm vie wable area display , with narrow bezels. ■ 1280 × 1024 nati ve resolution, plus full-screen support for lo wer resolutions.

Setting Up the Monitor 1. Place the monitor in a con venient, well-v entilated location near your computer . 2. Piv ot the monitor to the portrait position to access the connectors. Connect one end of the po wer cable to the po wer connector on the monitor 1 , and the other end to an electrical wall outlet 2 .
Setting Up the Monitor 3. For analog operation, connect one end of the VGA signal cable to the VGA connector on the monitor 1 , and the other end to the VGA connector on the computer 2 . T o mount the monitor to a swing arm, wall or other mounting fixture using the HP Compaq Quick Release, follo w the instructions provided in the documentation that comes with Quick Release. Setting Up the Monitor Locatin g t he Ratin g Label The rating label 1 is located along the bottom of the rear panel of the monitor . It provides the monitor’ s spare part number , product number and serial number . Y ou may need these numbers when contacting HP about your monitor model.
4 Opera tin g t h e Monitor Soft ware and U tilities The CD that comes with the monitor contains files you can install on your computer: ■ an .INF (Information) file ■ an .ICM (Image Color Matching) file ■ Auto-adjustment pattern utility Adobe Reader is supplied on this CD and can be installed from the menu.
Operating the Monito r work through separate BNC type connectors or through distribution b uf fers/boxes. Y ou may need to install the .INF file if these conditions are not met.

Operating the Monito r T o use the auto-adjustment feature: 1. Allow the monitor to warm up for 20 minutes before adjusting. 2. Press the Auto Adjust button on the monitor front panel. ❏ Y ou can also press the Menu button, then select Image Control from the OSD Main Menu.

Operating the Monito r Adjustin g Monitor Set ting s Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) to adjust the screen image based on your vie wing preferences. T o access the OSD, do the follo wing: 1. If the monitor is not already on, press the Power switch to turn on the monitor .

After adjusting the function, select Save and Return, or Cancel if you don’t w ant to sa ve the setting, then select Exit from the Main Menu. ✎ If the buttons remain untouched for 10 seconds while displaying a menu, the ne w adjustments will be sav ed when the OSD automatically times out and exits the menu.

Operating the Monito r Optimizin g An alog Video This monitor contains adv anced circuitry that allo ws the flat panel screen to function like a standard monitor . T wo controls in the on-screen display can be adjusted to improv e image performance: Clock and Clock Ph ase.
Oper ating the Monitor ■ Input Signal Out of Range — Indicates the monitor does not support the input signal because the resolution and/or refresh rate are set higher than the monitor supports. Set the resolution and refresh rate for 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz.
Operating the Monito r ■ T imer: On/Off ■ Sleep No w T o set the timer: 1. Press the Menu button on the monitor front panel to display the Adv anced Menu. 2. Scroll down and highlight Management. 3. Press the Menu button to select Management. 4. Scroll down and highlight and select Sleep T imer > Set Current T ime.
Oper ating the Monitor 13. Set the Timer mode to On to acti vate the Sleep T imer settings. 14. When you are finished, select Sav e and Return to exit the menu. The fifth selection, Sleep No w , turns the monitor backlights of f immediately and stays in sleep mode until the next On T ime acti v ates or a monitor b utton is pressed.
