3 Photography Terms and Definitions Terms Definitions Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) A simple technique professional photogr aphers use to ensure they properly expose their pictures, especially in challenging lighting situations. When AEB is selected, the camera automatically takes thr ee or more shots with a different exposure f or each frame.
4 Terms Definitions StorageID A device-specific four byte unsigned integer (UINT32) that represents a unique storage area that ma y contain data objects. 7 Getting Started Attach the Camera Strap T o reduce the risk of dropping the camer a, it is strongly recommended to attach and use the pro vided camera strap . Inserting the Batteries Follow these instructions to insert the bat teries into the battery/memory card compartment.

20 Changing the LCD Display The type of information displa yed on the LCD monitor can be changed using the button. Press the button repeatedly to change the LCD display f rom one type to another .
21 R ecor ding Photos, Movies and V oices Taking Photos This camera is designed to mak e the experience of taking photos simple and quick. It’s Auto mode f eature will optimise the internal settings so that in most situations, it can take photos with ease.
22 Recording Videos This camera is capable of recor ding videos. Since video recording requires significant memory capacity , it is highly recommended to use SD/SDHC cards with this feature. The a vailable recording time depends on the capacit y of the memory card.
23 Using the Stabilizer Feature The Stabilizer feature is f or Photo mode only . This feature is designed to help reduce the blurring effects on photos caused by slight camera mov ement.
24 Digital zoom 1X to 5X Optical zoom 1X to 4X Digital zoom is not av ailable for video recording. • Slight camera mov ement in digital zoom will make it more difficult to focus on • objects/subjects.
25 Slow sync. This would be used to capture a dimly lit background while keeping the f oreground (subject) properly lighted. This flash mode forces the camer a to use a slower shutter speed in combination with the flash. The flash fires briefly to light the foreground (subject) while capturing ambient light to r eveal more detail in the background.
26 Pan Focus. This mode is designed to accurately f ocus on a desired subject so that closer and further objects are out of focus. For example, the camer a might focus on a nearby tree, and the distant tr ees and mountains are blurry , as well as an even closer object such as a flower .

30 Using the Record Menu In Photo mode, access to the R ecord menu is done by simply by pressing the Menu button on back of the camera. When the menu is displayed, use the 4- way navigation control and the OK button to move through menu selections and apply the desired settings.

62 DPOF DPOF is the abbreviation for Digital Print Order F ormat, which allows you to embed printing inf ormation on your memory card. Y ou can select the images to be printed and how many prints to make with the DPOF menu in the camera and insert the memory card to the card compatible printer .
63 PictBridge The PictBridge function allows you to print images captured by y our camera without connecting the camera to a PC. Print images with a PictBridge compatible printer directly . To activate PictBridge: Connect your camera to a PictBridge compatible printer using the USB cable.

69 Making Connections Connect your camera to: computer , or a printer . Connecting the Camera to a PC Y ou can transfer images, videos and audio files to y our PC.
