Choose a location for your freezer , away from an y heat sources and allow adequate ventilation - 100mm (4 inches) gap above . Level the fr eezer by adjusting the front feet.
F or Y our S afety For y our safety , read the following advic e: The freezer c ooling system contains a small amount of gas which is en vironmentally friendly but flammable. T o av oid any risk :- ● Install the freezer follo wing the installation instructions and ensure that ventilation openings are kept clear of obstruction.
Installation 3 SAFETY & INST ALLA TION Minimum space required to open door The freezer needs a spac e of 600mm (24 inches) in front to allo w the door to open. When positioning the freezer next to a unit, a gap of 30mm (1 1 / 4 inch) can be left at the hinge side of the door to allow the easy remo val of furniture.
Installation Lev elling: Lev el the freezer when it is in its final location by adjusting the fron t feet, until firm contact is made with the floor . This will stop rocking or vibration and keep the door aligned which helps the freezer run reliably and efficiently .
Installation Electrical Supply W ARNING: This appliance must be earthed. The freez er must be positioned so that the plug is accessible after installation. Fu s e s Y our appliance c omes fitted with a plug and a 13A fuse. If you need to replace the fuse, only use those rated at 13A and AST A approved to BS1362.
C ontrols Con trolling the T emperatur e of the Freez er Compartment The control wheel on the fr ont of the worktop adjusts the inter nal freez er temperature .
C ontrols 7 CONTROLS Indicator Lights Green Mains Light The green mains light will sta y on as long as the electricit y supply is not interrupted . Amber F ast Freeze Ligh t The amber light indicates that the fast fr eeze button has been pressed on. By pressing this button on the freezer motor will run c ontinuously for extra cooling .
C ontrols F ast Freeze Button - F reezing fresh food Either the top compartment or the tallest compartment (see page 9), with or without the drawers , should be used to freeze fr esh food . Which drawer to use will depend on the amount and size of the fresh f ood and the size of the food already st ored.

Useful A dvice 10 ● Liquid-filled bottles or sealed fizzy dr inks must not be stored in freezer , as they may burst. ● Lollipops and wat er ices should not be given to children dir ectly from the freezer the low temper ature may cause ‘freez er burns’ .
Useful A dvice 11 Advic e on Using F reezer Dra wers This freezer can be used with or without the dra wers. However , th e bottom drawer needs to remain in position at all times (to maintain the c orrect storage temperature).
Defrosting 12 Regular use of your appliance causes ice to gr adually build up on internal sur faces increasing the running costs of your applianc e. When the ice is between 3-5mm ( 1 / 4 inch) Hotpoint recommend ‘fully defrosting y our freezer’ . F ully defrosting your freez er .
Cleaning 13 CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Cleaning W ARNING: Switch off electrical supply and pull out mains plug before cle aning . Interior W ARNING: Do not use abrasive powder , household cleaner , bleach or wax polish to clean the interior , they will leave a smell in the fre ezer .
Door Rev ersal 14 CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Y ou will need a selection of small hand tools, screwdrivers, spanners etc. to carr y out this procedure . Our Ser vice Depar tment can arrange for an Engineer to do the c onversion f or you but a charge will be made.
Door Rev ersal 15 CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Door Handle Reversal: 11. Remove the hole plugs from the right hand side of the door . 12. Unscrew the handle fixing screws and carefully remo ve the handle from the door . 13. T urn the handle ver tically , top to bottom and place against the right hand side.

T roubleshooting 17 OPERA TING SOUNDS OF A FREEZER These are the normal types of sound that your freez er will make . The motor (compressor) makes a buzzing or humming sound when it is running. This can be louder when it first switches on. This sound will reduce ov er the first few months.
