Clock/Minute Minder Operation 10 CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. SYMBOLS A ‘Bell’ symbol will light up when you select a M inute Minder P e riod and will remain lit for the period set. At the end of the Minute Minder Period , the timer will emit an audible tone and the ‘B ell’ symbol will flash.
11 Clock/Minute Minder Operation Here you can set a time period of up to 10 hours , that will coun t down. When it reaches zero , the timer will emit an audible tone. For Example: If you set 20 minutes , the audible tone will occur 20 minutes later . SET TING THE MINUTE MINDER Step 1 Ensure the time of day is set correctly .

15 Do not cook directly on the hob sur face without a c ooking utensil, as t his will result in damage to the surface of the hob. Do not use the hob as a worktop surface as damage may occur to the smooth sur face of the hob . Do not drag or slide utensils on the hob surface, as this will cause scratches in the surface of the hob.
Below are some guidelines to help you make the right choice of ut ensils. T o obtain a satisfac tory performance from a ceramic hob and to av oid unnecessary damage, we recommend the use of good quality utensil s with smooth flat bases. 1. Purchasing a new pan will not necessarily mean it will hav e a flat base, always check bef ore buying.
Choosing Y our Utensils 17 Do not use utensils with rough bases. Do not use lightweight utensils with thin, distorted or uneven bases. Do not use lightweight enamelled steel utensils . Do not use cast iron utensils. Do not use utensils with recessed , scrolled (like a gramophone record) or ridged bases.
Grill P an and Handle 18 Grill pan handle The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan, to facilitate cleaning and storage. The handle can be either detachable from or fixed t o the pan.

Guide T o G rilling 20 Pre - heat the grill f or 5 minutes on maximum control setting bef ore grilling The settings in the above guide ha ve been developed t o cook food successfully without excessiv e fat spitting and splashing. T op Oven C ook er y Notes 21 The top ov en should be used to cook small quantities of food . Th e oven is designed so that the grill element operates at a r educed heat o utput, this is combined with a heating element situated underneath the floor of the oven.
Main Oven C ook er y Notes The oven is fitt ed with ‘Credaclean ’ liners, two rod shelves and a meat pan (not all models). Remove the meat pan if it is not being used. T o heat the oven turn the knob clock wise , selecting the require temperature between 80˚C (176˚F) and 230˚C (450˚F) as r ecommended in the temperature chart.

‘S’ SL OW setting This is used for slow c ooking, k eeping f ood warm and warming plates for short periods. Ex tra car e should be taken when warming bone china, as i t may be damaged in a hot oven. Adv antages of “SL OW” cooking are: The oven sta ys cleaner because there is less splashing .
1. Plastic or n ylon pads 2. Household abrasiv e powders and scourers . These may scratch the surface. 3. Oven chemical cleaners , aerosols and oven pads . Caustic cleaners such as these will etch the surface and attack the metal frame. 4. Bath and sink cleaners ma y mark the sur face .
Car e and Cleaning 27 Cer amic hotplates Clean your Creda C eramic hob top regularly and av oid repeated burning of encrusted contamination. Y our choice of cleaner will depend on the degree of soiling involv ed (see below).
Refer to the instructions below for cleaning the ‘Credaclean’ p anels. . The surfaces of the ‘Credaclean’ oven liners are treated on the mottled face with a special vitr eous enamel which absorbs cooking soils. At temperatures of 220˚C (42 5˚F) or abov e, the special sur face enables these soils to be slowly destroy ed.
Remove the grill pan and the wire grid food support, it is best to wash these items immediately after use to prevent stains fr om being burnt on when used again. Wipe out the Grill compartment, use a fine steel wool soap pad to remo ve stubborn stains from the roof and floor of the compartment.
Car e and Cleaning 30 Take particular care not to damage the inner sur fac e of the door inner glass that is coated with a heat reflective la yer . Do not use scouring pads, or abrasi ve pow der , which will scratch the glass . Ensure that the glass panel is not subjected to an y sharp mechanical blows.
C ooking Results Not S atisfactory? 31 Problem Grilling Uneven cooking front to back Ensure that the grill pan is positioned centrally belo w the grill element. T op Oven Baking Uneven cooking front to back Ensure the cooking utensil is at least 4ins from the front of the shelf .
