PLAYBACK - 17 - play ed back in the reverse direct ion and then play ed back in the forward dir ection. 2. W hen the tape reac hes the end of the sc ene y ou have jus t recorded, the cam corder retur ns to the record/paus e (stand-by) mode. Recording star ts again when "REC/PA USE" is pr essed again.
DATE /TIM E SETTING - 18 - Forw ard and Reverse Search W hen you press "F.FW D" or "REW/REVIEW " during play back , the tape will be play ed back at a speed about 3 times faster than the nor mal playback speed, and you can easily locate a certain spot on the tape.

DATE RE CORDING - 20 - 10:30 AM 11/ 5/2000 8. After setting AM or PM, pres s "DA T E/TIM E" to change the display and start the internal clock .

AUTO FOCUS - 22 - NOT ES: W hen " AUTO" and date display is selected, the date disappear s about 10 seconds af ter recording is started. W hen " TITLE " and date display is s elected, the title and date disappear about 10 sec onds after recording is started.
DISPLAY BU TTON - 23 - DISPLA Y BUTTON W hen "DISPLAY" is pres sed, the inform ation on the shutter speed, tape r emaining, rem aining battery level, etc. is displayed. W hen "DISPLAY" is pres sed so the display appears in the viewfinder, the sam e display appears on the screen of the connec ted TV/m onitor receiver.
REMAINING TAPE - 24 - NOTE: The tape will also s top approxim ately at "0000M " during fas t forward m ode. REMA INING TA PE W hen "DISPLAY" is pres sed so the display appears in the viewfinder, the tape rem aining display shows the rem aining length of tape that can be used f or recording and playback, us ing seven dashes.
DIGITAL ZOOM - 25 - DIGITA L ZOOM The digital zoom increases the m agnification of the power z oom by 4.5 times . Y ou mus t place the subject you wish to magnif y at the c enter of the viewfinder. Press and hold the power zoom T control until you find the picture you want.
INDEX SIGNAL RE CORDING - 26 - QUICK EDIT (Edit Search) The quic k edit feature allows you to search f or the end of previous ly rec orded material, or find a particular s pot on y our tape, to begin your editing, or recording new m aterial. Quick edit is used while the camc order is in the record/paus e (stand-by) mode.
INDEX SIGNAL RE CORDING - 27 - Creating a title 1. Attach a power sourc e to the camcor der and slide "CA M /OFF/VIDE O" to either "CA M " or "VIDEO" pos ition. 2. Press "T ITLE" . T he flashing cu rsor will appear in the viewfinder.
INDEX SIGNAL RE CORDING - 28 - NOTE: Character m ay flash, however it will be recorded corr ectly without flas hing. 7. After c reating the title, press "T ITLE" to re move the title graphics from the viewfinder. Now title graphics is stored in m emor y .
VIEW ING THE PICTURE PLAYED BAC K ON YOUR TV - 29 - VIEWING THE PICTURE PLA YED BA CK ON YOUR TV To play back a tape rec orded on y our camc order and view it on y our TV receiver, you must connect the cam corder to the T V receiver using either audio/video c able (not supplied) or RF c onverter unit (optional).
CAMCORDER TO VCR DUBBING - 30 - 1. Disconnect the VHF antenna leads from the rear of the T V receiver. NOTE: Leave the UHF antenna leads connec ted to the TV. 2. Connect the VHF antenna lead to "IN FRO M A NT" on the RF c onverter unit. If the cable is round (75 ohm) , it will connect direct ly to the "IN FROM A NT" .
VIEW FINDER BRIGHT CONT ROL - 31 - 2. Connect the other ends to "AUDIO IN" , "VIDEO IN" of y our VCR as shown in diagram above. 3. Play the tape on the cam corder and recor d it on the VCR.
TROUBLESHOOTING - 32 - TROUBLESHOOTING Your camc order is a highly sophisticated instr ument. It has been c arefully checked and adjus ted at the factory under the m ost rigid quality control and inspection systems . However, should problem s develop, check the following points and tak e necessary corrective m easures .
HEAD CLEANIN G - 33 - PLA YBACK OF PRERECORDED CA SSETTE Symptom Check Point & Correct ion "PLAY" cannot be engaged. * Set "CA M /OFF/VIDE O" to "VIDEO" position. No picture appears on television screen when "PLAY" is pres sed.
For U.S.A. only - 34 - • Picture playback m ay becom e blurred or be interrupted. T his does not m ean that the recorded progr am has been erased. • Dirt accum ulated on the head after long periods of use c auses this problem . In this cas e, head cleaning requiring highly technical care is necessary.
