G97 4 4Z Metal Cut ting Bandsaw - 21 - The vise c an be adjusted to cut any angle from a straight 90 degree cut- off, to a 45 degree angle by loosening the two vise lo ck handles. Positiv e stops at 90° and 45° allo w you to quickly return the rear jaw to eit her angle.
-22- G 97 4 4Z Metal Cut ting Bandsaw The b lade guid e bearings are mounted on the front and rear arms. The rear arm is adjustable and should be set as c lose to the workpiece as possible. This will help ensure straight cuts by keeping the blade from t wisting and drif ting off of the cut line.

G97 4 4Z Metal Cut ting Bandsaw -3 1 - • Blade and Guides: Drop a few drops of light machine oil on the blade and the blade guides daily, especially when cutting cast iron, as no cutting fluid is recommended (see Figure 33 ). • Table and Machined Surfaces: Tables can be kept rust-free with regular applications of products like SLIPIT ®.

G97 4 4Z Metal Cut ting Bandsaw -35 - Note: It is sometimes possible to flip the blade inside out, in which case the blade will be installed in the wrong direction. Check to make sure the blade teeth are facing toward the workpiece, as shown in Figure 40 , after mounting on the bandsaw.

The tracking will rarely need to be adjusted if the bandsaw is used properly . To adjust the blade tracking on the bandsaw: 1. Loosen or tighten the tracking set screw in Figure 42 until the blade is tracking properly.
