Repair 312375J 9 7. Hold flats of the priming piston rod (24) with an adjustable wrench, and use a sec ond wrench to unscre w priming piston seat (27) fr om rod. Slide priming piston (26) off rod. I nspect surf aces of guide (25) and piston (2 6) f or scoring, wear , or other dam- age.

Repair 312375J 11 19. Pull seal (18 ) and seat (20) out the top of th e intak e housing (22). If seat is difficult to re mov e, tur n hous- ing upside do wn and drive seat out using a hamme r and brass r od. 20. Examine mating surf aces of seat (20) and int ake valv e bo dy (32) f or damage.

Remov e seal (38) from nut, and intak e valv e pa c kings (S) f rom v alve body . In spect mating surf aces of inta ke v alve body (32) and seat (2 0) f or damage or w ear .
Repair 312375J 13 5. If it w as necessar y to remo v e the priming piston rod (24) from the piston (23), apply threa d sealant to threads of the rod. Place fla ts of piston in a vise. Hold flats of r od with an adjustable wrench, and screw rod into piston ; see the follo wing table for cor- rect torque.
Repair 14 312375J 9. Lubr icate seal (18) and in stall it on the bottom of cyl- inder (17). Slide i ntake valv e housing (19) onto prim- ing piston rod (24) . Ensure smooth surf ace of valv e stop f aces displacement pump intak e. Scre w hous- ing onto cylinder .
Repair 312375J 15 17. Place cylinder (17) sidewa ys in a vise with soft jaws . 18. Lubr icate seal (18) and place it on bottom of cylin - der (17). (Cylinde r is symmetrical so either end can be the bott om.

Apply thread lubr i- cant to car tridge (3) and carefully slide down o ver displacement rod and into outlet housi ng (2).
Repair 312375J 17 28. Chec k that flats of priming piston rod (24 ) are accessible below intake cylinder (22). If not, tap on top of displacement rod (1 ) with a rubber mallet until flats are exposed. 29. Slide priming piston (26) and priming piston guid e (25) (only on L100 an d L500 models) onto rod (2 4) until it stops .
