1 1. MOUNTING 1.1 Equip ment List 1.2 Mountin g Procedu re When choosing a mounting l ocation for the unit, keep the following points in mind: • Select a location where shock and vibr ation are minimal. • Locate the unit away from places subject to rain or water splash.
2 2. WIRING Open the IF unit with your hands, det ach the shield cover and connect external equipment , refer- ring to t he illustrati on below and t he interc onnection diagram. Cables are mainl y connected to the unit wit h WAGO connectors. See the instr uctions bel ow for how t o attach wir ing to th e connectors.

3. ADJUSTMENTS 5 3.2 Setting Up NMEA Ports Ports J4 an d J5 output data in NMEA 0183 form at. Select the data t o output f rom tho se ports, along with baud rate and outpu t interval . The default settings are as shown in the table below. Default settings for ports 2 and 3 1.
3. ADJ USTMENT S 6 7. Push the [Menu/Cancel] button to light the Bps LED on the Port 2 line. 8. Push the [Enter] butt on. The Bps LED starts flashing and the current bps setting appears . 9. Push the [+] or [-] b utton to selec t desired baud rate. The choices are 4800, 9600, 19200 and 38400 (bps) .

3. ADJ USTMENT S 8 3.3 Hea ding, Pitch and Roll Offsets Turn on the IF uni t and wait approx. thre e minutes for t he satelli te compass to set tle. Then, ch eck that heading, pi tch and roll data are reasonable. If not, open the uni t and enter appropri ate off- set(s).
9 4. OPERATION Normally, no operati on is requi red except to power the unit (from the switchboar d). The ST- BY LED on the cov er i s ON, OFF or fl ashing accor ding to equipment stat e.

5. MAINTE NANCE, TROUBLE SHOOTING 11 5.2 Replacing the Fuse The 2A fuse inside the unit protects it from overcu rrent and equipme nt fault. If the power canno t be turned on, have a quali fied technician c heck the fuse. If the fuse has blown, find out th e cause before replaci ng it.
5. MAINTENANC E, TROUBLESH OOTING 12 5.4 Self Test The self tests check the equipment for proper operat ion. Self test 1 This test checks the two GPS receiver s, output circuit, processor and two sensors fo r proper op- eration. 1. Remove the cover and shiel d cover f rom the equipment.
