If the booster se a t slides on the vehicl e sea t upon which it is being used , pl acing a rubberized mesh s old a s shelf or carpet liner under the booster se a t may impr ov e this condition. Do not intr oduce an y item thicker than this under the boost er seat.

• Cr ash sensor s and monitoring s yst em with re adiness indica tor . The sa fety bel t pre tensioner s at the fr ont sea ting positions are de signed to tight en the sa fet y belt s when activ at ed .
Pr egnant women shoul d alwa ys w ear their sa fet y belt. The l ap bel t portion of a combina tion lap and shoul der belt shoul d be positioned l ow acr oss the hips bel ow the belly and w orn as tight as c omfort will allo w . The shoul der belt should be positioned t o cross the middl e of the shoulder and the c ent er of the chest.
How t o Use the Automa tic Locking Mode E142591 1. Buckle the c ombination lap and shoulder bel t. 2. Gra sp the shoul der portion and pull downw ard until the entir e bel t is pulled out. Allo w the belt to r etr act. As the bel t retr acts, you will he ar a clicking sound.
2. R ele as e the button and pull do wn on the height adjust er to mak e sure it is lock ed in place . S AFETY BEL T WARNING LAMP AND INDIC A TOR CHIME This l amp illumina tes and an audibl e warning will sound if the driver's sa fety bel t ha s not been fa stened when the vehicl e's ignition is turned on.
Then... If... The Bel t-Minder f ea ture will not ac tiva te . Y ou and the fr ont sea t passenger buckl e your sa fety bel ts bef ore y ou swit ch the ignition on or le ss than 1-2 minutes el apse aft er you s witch the ignition on.
3. For the se ating position y ou are swit ching off, buckl e then unbuckle the sa fet y belt thr ee times a t a moderat e speed , ending in the unbuckl ed sta t e. Aft er St ep 3, the saf ety bel t warning light turns on. 4. Whil e the sa fet y belt w arning light is on, buckl e and then unbuckl e the sa fet y belt.
The P ersonal Saf ety S ystem pr ovide s an impro ved o ver all lev el of frontal cr a sh prot ection t o front se at oc cupants and is designed t o help further reduc e the risk of airbag-r ela te d injuries.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERA TION W ARNINGS Airbags do not infl ate sl owl y or gentl y, and the risk of injury from a deplo ying airbag is the gr ea t est cl ose to the trim c ov ering the airbag modul e.
DRIVER AND P A SSENGER AIRBA GS W ARNINGS Nev er plac e your arm or an y objects ov er an airbag modul e. P lacing y our arm ov er a deplo ying airbag can resul t in serious arm fractur es or other injuries.

Aft er all occ upants hav e adjust ed their sea ts and put on sa f ety bel ts, it is v ery important tha t they c ontinue to sit properl y . A properl y sea ted occup ant sits upright, l eaning ag ainst the sea tback, and cent ered on the s ea t cushion, with their fe et comf ortably ex tende d on the floor .
W ARNINGS Do not use acc essory seat c ov ers. The use of a cc essory sea t cover s may pr ev ent the deplo yment of the side airbags and incr ea se the risk of injury in an accident. Do not le an your he ad on the door . The side airba g coul d injure y ou a s it deplo ys fr om the side of the sea tback.
SIDE CURT AIN AIRBAG S W ARNINGS Do not plac e objects or mount equipment on or near the he adliner at the sider ail tha t may c ome into conta ct with a depl oying side curt ain airbag. F ailure t o foll ow the se instructions may incr ea se the risk of personal injury in the ev ent of a cra sh.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERA TION MyK ey allow s you t o program k eys with restric ted driving mode s to pr omote g ood driving habits. All but one of the k ey s can be activ at ed with these r estrict ed modes. Any k eys tha t remain unprogramme d are ref erred to a s administr at or k eys or a dmin ke ys.
• V arious vehicl e speed minders c an be set. Onc e you sel ect a speed, it will be shown in the displ ay , f oll ow ed by an audibl e tone when the pr esel ect ed vehicl e speed is e x cee ded. • Audio sy stem ma ximum vol ume of 45%. A mess age will be sho wn in the displa y when you a ttempt to e x cee d the limited v olume.
Note: Y ou can cl ear or change your MyK ey setting s at an y time during the same k ey cycl e as you cre a ted the MyK ey . Once y ou hav e swit ched the vehicl e off , ho we ver , you will need an admin k ey t o change or cle ar your MyK ey set tings.

D A YTIME RUNNING LAMPS W ARNING The da ytime running lamps s yst em does not activ at e the rear lamps and may not pr ovide ade quat e lighting during lo w visibility driving c onditions. Also , the autol amps switch position may not activ at e the headl amps in all low visibilit y conditions, such a s daytime fog.
Note: T ypical road dus t, dirt and wa ter spots do not a ffect the perf ormance o f the automa tic high beam control. Ho wever , in col d or incl ement we ather c onditions, you may no tice a decr ea se in the av ailabilit y of the automa tic high beam control, e speciall y at st art up.
FRONT F OG LAMPS (If Equipped) E142453 Pr ess the contr ol to s witch the f og lamps on or off. Heated Ex terior Mirrors (If Equipped) See Hea ted W indow s and Mirrors (pa ge 112). Memory Mirrors (If Equipped) Y ou c an sa ve and r ecall the mirr or positions through the memory func tion. Integr at ed Blind Spot Mirrors (If Equipped) W ARNING Objects in the blind spot mirr or are clos er than they appear .
Note: Do not cle an the housing or gla ss of any mirror with har sh abra sives, fuel or other petrol eum or ammonia-based cl eaning product s. Y ou c an adjust the int erior mirror t o your pref erence. S ome mirror s also ha ve a second piv ot point.
Bounce-Back The moonr oof stops a utoma ticall y while closing. It re vers es some distanc e if there is an obstacl e in the way . Pr ess and hol d the front of the c ontrol within two s econds of a bounc e-back ev ent to o verride this function.

Engine Coolant T emper ature Gauge W ARNING Nev er remo ve the c oolant r eserv oir cap whil e the engine is running or hot. At normal oper a ting temper atur e, the needl e remains in the c enter se ction. Note: Do not restart the engine until the cause o f ov erhea ting has be en det ermined and resol ved.
W ARNING LAMPS AND INDIC A TORS The f oll owing w arning lamps and indica tor s alert y ou to a vehicl e condition that ma y bec ome serious. Some l amps light when you st art your v ehicle t o make sure they w ork. If any lamps r emain on aft er starting y our vehicl e, ref er to the respec tive s yst em warning l amp for further informa tion.
Direction Indica tor Lights when you s witch on the le ft or right direc tion indica tor or hazard w arning fl asher . If the indica tor s sta y on or fla sh f ast er, check f or a burned out bulb. See Changing a Bulb (pag e 222). Door Ajar Displa ys when the v ehicl e is on and any door is not compl etel y clos ed.
It also lights momentaril y when you swit ch the ignition on to c onfirm the lamp is functional.
