2 Y our DishDrawer® has been carefully desig ned to operate safely during normal dish washing procedures . Please keep the following instructions in mind when you are using y our DishDrawer®.
3 Safety and warnings Impor tant safet y instruc tions Installation This DishDrawer® must be installed and located in accordance with the Installation instructions before it is used.
4 Safety and warnings Impor tant safet y instruc tions Maintenance Disconnect the appliance from the pow er supply before any cleaning or maintenance. Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance or attempt any servicing unless specifically recommended in this user guide.
5 F or Great Britain only Impor tant! This appliance must be earthed. F use replacement The mains lead of this appliance is fitted with a BS 1363A 13 A fused plug. T o change a fuse in this type of plug, use an AST A approv ed fuse to BS 1362 type and proceed as follow s: 1 Remo ve the fuse cover and fuse .
6 Operating instructions - Contr ols P ower button / The / button turns the DishDrawer® on or off . Opening the drawer will automatically turn the DishDra wer® on for 30 seconds. T o end a wash programme in mid cycle, press the / button. Any water in the DishDra wer® will be pumped out.
7 Operating instructions - Contr ols Keylock The Keylock featur e disables all the buttons on the DishDrawer®. T o activate, press and hold the / button until you hear one beep (3 seconds). The light above the / button is lit when Keylock is activated.
8 1 Load dishes Remove all food scraps and load the dishes . 2 Add detergent 3 Check rinse aid 4 Press the / button 5 Select a wash programme 6 Select (optional) 7 Check Ensure there is nothing obstructing the spray arms. The drain filter must be level with the filter plate.
9 Caring f or your dinnerware The combination of high temperatur es and dishwasher detergent may cause damage to some items if they are washed in the DishDraw er®. Remember , if in any doubt about an y aspect concerning items washed in the DishDraw er®, follow the instructions from the manufacturer of the items, or wash the item b y hand.
10 Cutlery basket T o reduce the risk of injury, w e recommend loading knives and sharp utensils with handles facing up. Mix spoons, knives and forks within each section to stop cutlery nesting together and to ensure the water circulates fr eely . Keep stainless steel from touching silv er cutler y to avoid staining .
11 Rack ing and accessories Removable small items c ontainer T o optimise the cutler y space within the basket, the small items container can be placed elsewhere on the base rack.
12 Rack ing and accessories Stemw are notches These notches help support long-stemmed glassware. This keeps flimsy items (eg light plastic lids and bottles) or large platters and plates stable, so they cannot be dislodged during the wash. Slide the item between the prongs of the clip .
13 Rack ing and accessories 2 13 Knife clip (supplied with some models only) This clips onto the adjustable racks and supports k nives and other utensils during the wash. Always ensure that knife blades are facing down. Cup r ack with folding support wire F old the wire up to support tall glasses.
14 Loading suggestions When loading your DishDr awer®, make sur e that you place items so that water c oming from the rotating spray arms below can r each all areas (wash per formance will be reduc ed if it can’ t) nothing blocks the water from getting to items on the adjustable racks .
15 Using tablets Impor tant! W e do not recommend using dishw asher tablets in USA and Canada models. The pre-w ash cycle in these models would dissolve the tablet, reducing the cleaning pow er left for the main wash. If you are using tablets, w e highly recommend you use the standard Normal or Heavy programmes only .
16 What is wa ter hardness? Hard water is water with a high conc entration of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. In soft water , this concentration is low . W ater hardness varies by geographical location. How does water hardness affect dishwashing? Hard water can be detrimental to the pef ormance of your DishDrawer .
17 W ash programmes Detergent quantities Find out about wat er hardness in your home, then use the table belo w to determine how much detergent to use f or each wash programme. See also section ‘Water hardness and dish washing’ . The detergent dispenser has markings to help you measur e the correct quantities.
18 Impor tant! Only use powdered detergent recommended for domestic automatic dish washers in the detergent dispenser . Dishw asher detergents are strongly alkaline. They c an be extremely dangerous if swallowed. Av oid contact with the skin and eyes and keep children and infirm persons aw ay from the DishDrawer when it is open.
19 W e highly recommend the regular use of liquid rinse aid to g ive the best drying results. Rinse aid gives a streak-fr ee, sparkling clean look to glass and chinaware. In addition, it prev ents metal from tarnishing. The rinse aid dispenser is on the inside of the drawer , located underneath the detergent dispenser .
20 Setting up the water softener Impor tant! Only GB IE models have a built-in w ater softener. Models with water softener are not currently av ailable in New Zealand, Australia, U SA or Canada. Determine the water hardness in your local ar ea Y our local water company will be able t o provide you with inf ormation.
21 W ater softener Impor tant! The water softener must alw ays be filled with granular salt made especially for dishw asher water softening systems. W e do not recommend the use of cooking salt lik e table salt, rock salt or pellets as they may contain impurities that will impair or diminish the life of the w ater softener.
22 Option adjustments The following options can be adjust ed to suit your pref erences: Rinse aid setting Reduce the Rinse aid setting if there is excess f oam after a wash programme or if you ar e using dishwasher tablets with built-in rinse aid. Increase the Rinse aid setting if dishes are wet or streaky after a wash programme .
23 Option adjustments How to make option adjustments FIRST Enter Option adjustment mode: 1 Press the / button to turn power on. Open DishDraw er®. 2 P ress and hold the / and / buttons for 5 seconds until one long beep sounds .
24 User maintenanc e instructions Impor tant! Disconnect the DishDrawer® from the po wer supply and allow all its parts to cool before any cleaning or maintenance.

28 How to rec ognise a fault code When a fault has occurred, the DishDra wer® will continuously beep every second. The fault code will be display ed on the wash programme selector . Each fault code is shown in the follo wing char t. How to att end to a fault code 1 Press the / button briefly to stop the beeping .
