6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Control s The control knobs can be set to anywh er e between HI an d LO. Push in an d turn to setti ng. Use the following c h art as a guide when se tting heat lev els. NOTE : On self-cleanin g models, the cookt op will not operate when the rang e is in a self-cle aning mode.
7 Cookware should n ot extend more than ½" (1.3 cm) over the coil element. If cookware is uneven or too large, it can produce excess heat , causing th e burner bowl to ch ange color . For more information, see the “Gener al Cleaning” section.

9 Meat Thermometer On models wit h out a tempe rature pr obe, use a meat thermometer to determine donenes s of meat, poultry and fish. The inter nal temperature, not appe arance, should be used to determine doneness. A meat therm ometer is not supplied w ith this ap pliance.
