9 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide Bef ore Using the Remote Contr ol Using the Remote Contr ol and Remote Operating Range When using the remo te control for the first time, pull out the insulating tape that is protrudin g from the battery hold er . When the insu lating tape is pull ed out, the remote control can be used.

If it is not possible to set up the projector perpen dicular to the screen, it can be set up at a slight v ertical angle.

Adjusting Comp uter Ima ges Automatic setup detects the s tatus of the signals coming from the conn ected computer , and automatically adjusts thes e signals so that the optimum images can be obtained.
35 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide If ver tical stripes appear in the p rojected images, and this cannot be f ixed using automatic setup, you will need to adjust the tracking manually using the fo llo w ing procedure. Pr ocedure 1 Press the [Menu] button on the remote control, and then select "T racking" fr om the "Video" menu.

40 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide Freeze This function pauses only the projected images. The sound keeps playing without pausin g. The image source will st ill be playing back the images even whilst projection is paused, and so it wi ll not be possible to resum e projection from the poin t where it w as paused.
41 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide Pr ojects a Wi de-screen Ima g e During Image Pr ojection of the Vide o Equipment This function chan ges the aspect ratio of images fro m 4:3 to 16:9 when component v ideo images (YCbCr and YPbPr ) or video imag es (S-Video or com posi te vid eo ) are being projected.

Whilst keeping the projecto r horizontal, use a v acuum cleaner to clean away the dust from the air filter . 87 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide It is time to replace the lamp when: • The message "Lamp Replace." appears on the screen f or 30 seconds when projection star ts . • When the (W ar ning) indicato r is flashing red at 0.5-second intervals • The projected image gets darker or starts to deteriorate.
88 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide Caution : W ait until th e lamp has co oled down suff icient ly befor e opening the lamp cov er . It takes a further on e hour after t he cool-dow n perio d has f inishe d for t he lam p to be cool enough.

90 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide The projector has a b uilt-in counter which keeps track of the lamp operating time. When the cumulati ve operating time reaches a certain point, it causes the replacement w arning message to be d isplayed. Therefore, th e counter needs to be reset after the lamp has been r eplaced with a new on e.
91 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide Pr ocedure 1 T urn off the pr ojector po wer , wait for the cool-down period to end, and then disconnect the power cable. The cool -do wn peri od lasts for about 45 seconds. The actual time will vary depending on the external ai r temperature.
92 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide Sa ving a User's Logo Y ou can record the im age that is currently being projected as a user's logo. Use the remote con trol to carry out the operations for reco rding a user's lo go. Tip : When a user's logo is r ecord ed, the pr evious user's logo will be er ased.

96 EMP-735 Us er’s Guide USB Connection Setup In order t o control the projector using ESC/VP21 com mands, the pr ojector must be connected to a computer b y means of a USB cab le. The follo wing preparation needs to be carried out b efore communication via a USB connection can b e carried out.
