16 Unp acki ng a nd S et ting Up Choosing a Locati on You can use your Ep son MovieMate just abo ut anywhere—in the living room, bedroom, or even outside. You can use it wi th an optional floor-, wall-, or ceiling-mounted screen, or simpl y proje ct on a flat whi te wa ll.

18 Unp acki ng a nd S et ting Up When setting up the pr ojector, ke ep these consider ations in mind: ■ Make sure you do n’t block the air vents on the side s. ■ Make sure yo u place the p rojector within 9 f eet (2.7 meter s) of an electrical outlet, po wer strip, or extension cord.

22 Playi ng Movies Standard scree ns have a 4 :3 shape ratio, which is bett er suite d for vi ewing computer presentations and standard TV broadc asts. Watching DVD mo vies or HDTV broadcasts on a 4:3 ratio scree n limits the i mage width and leaves unused s creen area abov e and below the image.
Playin g Movies 23 Screen surface q uality can also aff ect the reflecti vity of light in yo ur project ed image. Screen reflectiv e properties are measured as “gain” rate s, with 1.0 gain as the reflectivi ty of a white board. Highly ref lective sc reen surfaces (abo ve 1.
24 Playi ng Movies Adjusting the Picture After you set up and start the projec tor, you may need to make certain adjustments. ■ If t he i mage is t oo lo w, yo u c an ex tend th e feet (by pr essi ng t he f oot a djus tm ent l eve rs) and tilt the proje ctor up.

Howeve r, you can still adjust the volume to the he adphones using the p rojector ’s volume controls on the control panel or remo te control.

To outp ut sound fr om th e projec tor, the ex ternal equip ment nee ds to have a digital coaxial (S/PDIF) audio input port.

Doing More with Epson MovieMa te 53 Viewing Status Informati on and Resetting the Lamp Timer You can use the Info p age on the Visual Setup menu to view the numb er of hours the lamp has been used, and to reset the timer after you install a new lamp. You can also vi ew video signal information and error codes for any problems that occur.
54 Caring fo r Your Epson MovieMate Caring for Your Epson MovieMate The projec tor needs little maintenance. All you need to do o n a regular basis is keep the lens clean. You also may need to cle an the air filt er to help pr event over heating. Warning: Befo re you cl ean any pa rt of the p rojector, tu rn it off and unplu g the pow er cord.
Caring for Your Eps on Movi eMate 55 Cleani ng the Case Before you clean the c ase, turn of f the projec tor and unplug the pow er cord. ■ To remove dirt or dust, wipe the ca se with a soft, dry, lint- free clot h. ■ To remove stubborn dirt or stains , moisten a soft cl oth with wate r and a neutral detergen t.

62 Problem Solv ing Problem Solving This se ction exp lains how t o interp ret the projec tor’s status l ights, so lve pr oblems, and contact technica l support. What T o Do When th e Li ghts Flash The lights on top of th e projec tor indicate its stat us and let you know when a pr oblem occurs.
Problem Solving 63 The warning light is flashing orange and the light is fl ashing red. High-speed c ooling is in process. If the pro jector ge ts too hot again, pr ojection stops automatically. Make sure the projector is at least 8 inches (20 cm) away from the wall.
64 Problem Solv ing Solving Epson MovieMat e Operation Prob lems The projector doesn’t turn on. ■ Make sure the powe r cord is secur ely attache d at both ends. Tr y usin g a different power outlet. If the power cord has been damaged, turn of f the projector, di sconnec t the powe r cord, and contact Epson.
Problem Solving 65 The DVD sk ips. ■ Make sure the pr ojector is no t tilted more than 10 degrees while playing CDs or DVDs. This can cau se skipp ing or disc s cratche s. ■ Make sure there are no fingerp rints or scr atches on the DVD . The remote control doesn’t work.
66 Problem Solv ing The pictur e looks too light or t oo dark. ■ Press the button on the remote contro l to select th e best setting fo r your viewing enviro nment. See page 29. ■ Adjust the Brightness and Contras t settings. Se e page 49. ■ If the picture looks darker than it used to , you may need to replace the lamp.
Problem Solving 67 There is a problem with the sound quality. ■ Try pressing the button o n the remote contro l and adjusting the sound mode. (Make sure the toggle switch on the r emote control is set to the Func- position.) ■ If you’re us ing external equipment, you ma y need to adjust the Audio settings in the setup menu (see p age 51).

Le informazioni sul Epson 60 ti aiuteranno sicuramente a prendere una decisione relativa all’acquisto.
