1 Introduction 1.1 Overview The IP PBX A dministration Guide provides instructions for administering the IP PBX system. IP PBX is an embedded call-proce ssing server communi cating with client sta tions with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).

2 System Configuration This section describes how to configure system pa rameters used by IP PBX. The factory default of LAN IP addre ss is 192.168.1.1. Connect to LAN port and the configuration Web interface is at https://192.168.1.1/ . Once con nected, the browser will a sk for accepting a ce rtificate.
2.3 On-board W AN Setup The On-board W AN Setup page allows administrator to configure W AN network interface for IP PBX. Select System -> On-boa rd W AN Setup , and the current setting of W AN network interface is displayed, e.g. type, IP address etc.
2.3.5 MA C Clone Select MAC Clone and enter a MAC/physical a ddres s to change the W AN MAC address. 2.4 On-board LAN Setup The On-board LAN Setup page allows administrator to configure LAN network interface for IP PBX. 1. Select System -> On-board LAN Setu p to see the current settings of LAN network interface.
2.5.3 Delete a R oute 1. Select a route ID. 2. Click DEL to remove the route ID from the IP Route I D column. 2.6 Dynamic DNS Setup Dynamic W AN IP address causes difficulty for inbound connections from remot e clients or IP PBX systems.
2.7.1 Enable QoS 1. Click Enable 2. Enter the W AN Uplink Speed , W AN Downlink Speed , and Uplink V oIP Reserved (bandwidth ). 3. Click APPL Y . For a popular 2M/256K ADSL program, the W AN uplink speed would be 256 a nd the W AN downlink speed would be 2048.
2.8.3 Delete a Ser vice 1. Select a service ID. 2. Click DEL to remove the service from the Service ID . 2.9 Maintenance This page includes maintenance functions of IP PBX, including S torage Backup , SIP UA , CDR Log , System Ev ents , and Acti ve Calls .
2.9.5 Activ e Calls The Active Calls page shows current active calls. Columns Client a nd Party indicate the involved extensions or trunks of a call. S tat e shows the st ate of a call, while Service gives the current action of the listed Client.
2.11 Shut down In System -> Shut dow n , you can shut down the machine by clicki ng YES , or reboot the machine by selecting the Rebooting Af ter Shut down check box and cli cking YES . In case the software reboot fails, you can also press th e hardware Reset button.
3 Service Configuration This section describes details to configur e various services built in the IP PBX. 3.1 NTP Service Select Service -> NTP Ser vice to specify a NTP server for network time synchro nization. Y ou can enable or disable NTP service at any time.
3.3 STUN Service IP PBX has a built-in STUN client to solv e NA T problems. Select Service -> STUN Service to specify a Simple T raversal of UDP through NA T s (STUN) se rver for NA T traversal. Y ou can enable or disable STUN Service at any time. Note: Y ou have to restart the IP PBX Service, af ter changing the STUN setting.

4 IP PBX Configuration This section introduces steps to pr ovision the IP telephony part of the IP PBX. Note that reloading configuration is required in orde r to make new configuration effe ctive 3 . 4.1 User Configuration A user is a logical entity in IP telephony which associ ates extensions with a usergroup.

4.2.1 Add a User Gr oup 1. Enter a usergroup name beside the ADD button, and then click ADD . 2. The name will show in Group ID . 3. Click the name in Group ID to view the edit page. 4. Enter settings shown in T able 4.2 . 5. Click SET to save the settings, and click BACK to return to the USERGROUP MANAGEMENT page .

4.7 Analog PSTN T runk configuration (PC#1, PC#2 only) An Analog PSTN trunk group is a logical group of one or more FX O or FXS PSTN subscriber lines connecting to FXO and FXS ports on IP PBX. The ANALOG PSTN TRUNK MANAGEMENT page allows the admi nistrator to configure PSTN trunks.

PSTN trunk. 4.8 ISDN PSTN T runk Configuration An ISDN PSTN trunk group is a logical group of one or more ISDN subscriber lines con necting to ISDN ports (RJ45) on IP PBX. Currently only Basic Rate Interface (BRI) ISDN se rvice is supported. BRI consists of two 64 kb/s B channels and one 1 6 kb/s D channel for a tot al of 144 kb/s.
Tr u n k P o r t s The Tr u n k P o r t s is the logical range of the sum of B and D channels. Each physical ISDN po rt occupies three T runk Ports, two B and one D channel s. User only needs to specify the B channel number here , since D channel is reserved in the 3 rd trunk port for each physical ISDN port.

5 Feature Configuration A feature is a logical entity presenting a function module of IP PBX, e.g. meet-me conferen ce, auto attendant, voice mail, music on hold, etc. Any conf iguration change to a f eature requires clicki ng RELOAD in Service -> IP PBX Service to take ef fect.
5.2.1 Add a Life Line P a tter n 1. Enter settings shown in T able 5.2 . 2. Click ADD to see the newly added pattern in the Line Pattern . 5.2.2 Delete a Life Line P atter n 1. Select a Line p attern . 2. Click DEL to remove the p attern from the Line Pattern .

6 Example Provisioning This chapter introduces severa l practical configuration exam ples of IP PBX deployment. The configuration of IP PBX is very fl exible and the expressi veness of usergroups, routegroups, and trunks are scalable enough to su pport various network archi t ectures.

Assume each site has a DSL connection for Internet access. B-HQ has 4 PSTN subscrib er line s and B-BR has 2 lines as shown in Figure 6-2 .
