5 FL AT PANEL SPEAKER CONNECTION IMPOR TANT: CONNECT THE SPEAKER PANEL TO THE MAIN UNIT BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE AC POWER CORD TO THE AC OUTLE T. The Thinovation ™ Speaker Panel not only contains the left and right wide range speakers, it also serves as the CD compartment cover.
6 POWER SOURCE This system is designed to operate on 120V AC 60Hz house current onl y. Connecting this system to any other power source may cause damage to the system and such damage is not covered by your warranty. Unwind the AC power cord and extend it to its full length.
7 PROTECT YOUR FURNITURE This model is equipped with non-skid rubber 'feet' to prevent the product from moving when you operate the controls. These 'feet' are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture.

1 2 O PE R A T I N G I N S T RUC T I O N S • Make sure the Thinovation ™ Speakers Panel is properly mounted and locked onto the speaker mounting bracket. • Make sure that the FM antenna wire is fully unwound and extended. • Make sure that you have installed the batteries in the remote control.
1 3 SETTING THE CLOCK When the system is connected to the AC outlet for the first time the S TANDBY LED indicator on the front panel glows red and “ 0:00 ” appears on the displa y . This is your indication that the time display is incorrect and needs to be reset.
1 4 4.) Press the or buttons on the front panel of the main unit or on the remote control to set the display to the correct Hou r, AM or PM. 5.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK-ADJ.
1 5 LISTENING TO THE RADIO 1.) Press the PO WER/S TANDBY button on the main unit or the remote control. The main display turns on. 2.) If necessar y , press the TUNER button on the front panel of the main unit or the FUNCTION button on the remote control to select the Tuner function.
1 6 ANTENN A INFORM ATION FM Make sure the FM lead wire antenna is unwound and extended to its full length. It may be necessary to vary the direction of this wire antenna until you find the position that provides the best reception for your favorite FM stations.
1 7 PRE-SETTING S TA TIONS IN THE TUNER MEMORY This system includes a 20 station preset memor y . You can store up to 10 FM stations and 10 AM stations in the tuner memory for immediate recall. The procedure for storing stations in memory is as follows: 1.
1 8 RECALLING PRESET S TA TIONS Turn the system ‘ On ’ and select the desired band. Press the M-UP/REPE AT button repeatedly to scroll through the preset memories until the display shows the desired station. CHANGING PRESET S TA TIONS To change any preset station memory select the desired band and tune to the new station you wish to memorize.
1 9 PL AYING COMPACT DISCS IMPOR TANT: This CD player can play normal CDs plus CD Recordable (CD-R) and CD Rewriteable (CD-RW) discs. However the playability of CD-R and CD- RW discs may be affected by the type of software that was used in ‘ ripping ’ the tracks from the original discs and ‘ burning ’ the tracks onto the blank media.
2 0 5.) Close the front panel. The disc will spin and zeros will flash in the track number and time display. W ithin a few seconds the disc will stop spinning and the display will show the total playing time and total tracks on the disc.
2 1 PAUSE CONTROL To pause momentarily during CD playback press the PL AY/PAUSE button on the front panel of the main unit or the remote control again. The sound stops and the elapsed time display flashes but the disc continues to spin. Press the PL AY/PAUSE button once more to cancel Pause mode and resume playback.
2 2 REPE AT PLAYBACK Y ou can program the player to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. The Repeat function can be activated while a disc is playing or while the disc is stopped.
2 3 INTRO SCAN PL AYBACK (Remote Control Only) This feature allows you to play just the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc. This may be useful when you are trying to locate a specific song but you do not remember the title. Load the disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total playing time and number of tracks.
2 4 PROGRAMMED PL AYBACK This system has a 20 track programmable memor y . You can program up to 20 tracks on a disc to play back in any desired order. NOTE: You cannot program the player while a disc is playing. You must press the STOP/BAND button first to stop playback before beginning the programming steps below.
2 5 After you have programmed up to 20 tracks, press the PL AY/PAUSE button to begin programmed playback. The MEMORY indicator remains in the display and the tracks you selected will be played in the desired orde r .
2 6 OTHER FUNCTIONS MUTE Button (Remote Control Only) To temporarily shut off the sound from the speakers press the MUTE button on the remote control. The MUTE indicator will appear in the display and the sound will stop. Press the MUTE button again to cancel Mute and restore the sound.
2 7 TIMER Function (Remote Control Only) This system includes a programmable Timer function that will turn the system ‘ On, play for one hou r , and then shut the system ‘ Off ’ automaticall y . You can use the timer to wake you up to the radio or to your favorite CD.
2 8 6.) At the selected ‘ On ’ time the system will turn on automatically to the last function selected, either Tuner or CD. It will play for one hour and then shut off automatically. NOTE: If the system turns on to CD function it will only play until the end of the disc and then stop.
2 9 SLEEP Timer This system includes a programmable Sleep Timer that allows you to fall asleep to between 10 and 90 minutes of music and then shuts the power ‘ Off ’ automaticall y. To Operate The Sleep Timer: 1.) Turn the system ‘ On ’ and operate either the Tuner or CD function as usual.
3 0 NOTES: • You can shut the unit off manually before the Sleep Timer counts down to “ 00 ” by pressing the POWER/S TANDBY button at any time. • Remember that if you are falling asleep to CD you will also wake to CD, and if you fall asleep to the radio you will also wake to the radio.
