4 Safety Please read this instruction book befor e using the appliance and retain for future r eference. These warnings ar e provided in the interests of your safe- ty , ensur e you understand them fully before using the appliance. Intended use • The appliance is intended for use in the home.
5 Daily Operation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures. There is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fir e extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Remove transport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings are pr otected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces from the interior of the appliance. Disposal of old Appliances For environmental r easons, refriger ation appliances must be disposed of properly .
Starting up and temperatur e r egulation Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar- bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thor oughly .
8 Interior Accessories Storage Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.
9 Fresh food r efriger ation To obtain the best performance: • do not store warm food or evapor ating liquid in the refrigeator • do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a str ong flavour . • P osition food so that air can circuiate fr eely round it.
10 • Allow warm food to cool down before fr eezing. The warmth will cause increased ice formation and incr ease the power consumption. • Please note the maximum storage times specified by the manufactur er . • Thawed foods which have not been processed further (cooked into meals) may not under any circumstances be fr ozen a second time.
11 Prepar ation of Ice Cubes 1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water , place it in the freezer com- partment and leave to freeze. 2. To loosen the fr ozen cubes, either twist the ice cube tray or hold it under running water for a few seconds.
12 We particulary r ecommend that you periodically clean the defrost-water drainage outlet, located in the centr e of the drainage gr oove in the refrig- erator compartment, to pr event the defrost water form overflowing on to foods stored in the compartment.
