818 34 80-00/6 9 Remove the transport fittings fr om the storage shelves: 4. Slide the fittings securing the shelf forward to the thicker section on the edge of the storage shelf. 5. Slide the storage shelf far enough forward so that it can be hinged downwards and the fittings can be removed fr om the guides.
10 818 34 80-00/6 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be installed in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
Installation 818 34 80-00/6 11 The r efrigerator/fr eezer needs ventilation Air is fed under the door through the vent slots in the base and is exhausted upwards along the back wall. T o ensure proper air cir culat ion never cover or alter the vent openings.
Installation 12 818 34 80-00/6 Electrical Connection Any electrical work requir ed to inst all this appliance should be car ried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. 1 WARNING – THIS APPL IANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufacturer declines any liabilit y s hould these safety measure s not be observed.
818 34 80-00/6 13 Reversing The Door The door hinges can be changed from right (as supplied) to left if requir ed to suit the location wh ere the appliance is installed. 1 War n i n g ! Unplug from the mains, befor e reversing the door . 0 1. Open the freezer compartment door and remove the plinth to the front.
Reversing The Door 14 818 34 80-00/6 5. Unscrew the centr e door bearing. 6. Remove the fridge compartment door carefully to the fr ont and place on one side. 7. Unscrew the r etaining screw for the self-closing mechanism on the bottom of the fridge compart- ment door .
Reversing The Door 818 34 80-00/6 15 11 . Turn the handle bracket with the handle rod 180° and scr ew them to the door (5) and the fitted han- dle bracket (6). 1 Caution! Do not use excessive force and overtighten the scr ews (max. 2 Nm) as you may damage the door handles.
Reversing The Door 16 818 34 80-00/6 15. Fasten the self-closing mechanism on the top left of the freezer compartment door . 16. Carefully slide the freezer com- partment door onto the centre bearing pivot and close. 17. Place the lower door bearing with the bearing pivot in the lower left of the freezer compartment door and fasten.

Appliance Description 18 818 34 80-00/6 Fr eezer tray A freezer tr ay is included below the upper drawer in the fr eezer compartment. Berries and vegetables, for example, can be pre-fr ozen on the freezer tr ay . Advantage: The berries are not squeezed and maintain their natural form.

Appliance Description 20 818 34 80-00/6 T emperatur e setting buttons The temperatur e is adjusted using the „+“ (WARMER) and „- “ (COLDER) buttons.
818 34 80-00/6 21 ALARM OFF button With the ALARM OFF button, th e acoustic warning signal can be switched off, e.g. the "Open Door" warning when sorting in or out, the food to be chilled or frozen.
22 818 34 80-00/6 Initial Start-Up 0 1. Insert plug into mains socket. 2. Press the ON/OFF button. The green power indicator lights up . A warning tone sounds and the flashing red warning light indicates that the r equired stor age tempera- ture has not yet been reached.
818 34 80-00/6 23 T emper ature Adjustment With the individual temperatur e setting buttons the desired temperatur es in the refriger ator and in the freezer compartment can be adjusted independently of one another . 0 1. Press either the „+“ (W ARMER) or „-“ (COLDER) button.
24 818 34 80-00/6 COOLMA TIC/FROSTMA TIC COOLMA TIC The COOLMATIC function is su ited for quick cooling of large quantities of goods in the r efrigerator , e.g. drinks and salads for a party or wedding. 0 1. The COOLMATIC function is switched on by pr essing the COOLMATIC button.
818 34 80-00/6 25 Switching the Appliance Off 3 The r efrigerator compartment can be switched off independently of the freezer compartment. 0 1. To switch off the appliance, hold down the ON/OFF button. This will re sult in a countdown fr om "3" to "1" taking place in the temper atur e displays.
26 818 34 80-00/6 Holiday Mode In the holiday mode the temperatur e for the refrigerator is appr oxi- mately +15 °C. In the holiday mode it is ther efore possible to leave the door of the empty refriger ator closed during periods of extended absence.
818 34 80-00/6 27 Contr ol and Information Systems The contr ol and information systems consist of temper ature displays, an optical warning display and an acoustic warning.
28 818 34 80-00/6 For the freezer: The red warning display flashes and a warning tone sounds as soon as the temperatur e in the freezer rises to mor e than -12 °C. In addition the freezer temper ature display flashes. 0 1. Y ou can switch off the warning to ne using the ALARM OFF button.
818 34 80-00/6 29 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves A storage shelf must be inserted in to the lower guide tr ack above the fruit and vegetable drawer s. It must always remain in this position, so that fruits and vegetabl es remain fr esh longer .

818 34 80-00/6 31 Corr ect storage For physical reasons, the r efrigerator compartment has different temper ature zones. The coldest zone is on the lowest storage shelf imme diately above the salad bin. Warmer zones ar e the upper storage shelves and door racks.
32 818 34 80-00/6 Fr eezing Except for the bottom drawer , which serves only for storage purposes, all compartments and drawer s in the freezer compartment ar e suitable for freezing fresh food. War n i n g ! • Before foods are fr ozen, the actual temperatur e in the freezer compartment must be -18 °C or colder .
818 34 80-00/6 33 Tips: • The follo wing are suited for the packaging of fr ozen goods: – freezer bags and polyethylene wr aps; – plastic containers for fr ozen foods; – extra-thick aluminium foil • The follo wing are suited for sealing bags and wr aps: plastic clips, rubber bands or adhesive tape.
34 818 34 80-00/6 Pr epar ation of Ice Cubes 0 1. Fill ice cube tray 3/4 full with co ld water and place in a dr awer and allow to freeze. 2. To r emove the finished ice cubes twist the ice cube tray or hold under running water for a short time.

Remove frozen goods, pack them in several layer s of newspaper , cover them and store them in a cool place. 3. Switch off the appliance and remove plug fr om the mains, or discon- nect from the electricity supply .
