9 2 Envir onmental pr otection tips • Y our laundry will become light and soft in the laundry dryer even without a soft rin sing agent. • Loosen your laundry before loading it into the dryer . This helps to prevent lengthy running times and creasing.
Environmental protection tips 10 • Choose the right drying programme fo r the type and qua ntity of laun- dry . The dryer will then operate as economically as possible. Some typi- cal consumption va lues: If the amount of laundry is not en ough for a particular degr ee of dry- ing (e.

14 Brief oper ating instructions • Ensure the laundry is well spun before tumble drying. • Prepare the laundry . • Open the door and load the laundry . • Shut the door . Attention! Do not catch washing in the door . • Select the drying progr amme on the pr ogramme selector .
15 Drying Pr epare the laundry • To pr event tangled bundles of laundry: Close zip fasteners; button-up bed linen and pillow cases; tie-together loose tapes, e.g. aprons. • Empty all pockets. • Remove all me tal objects (i.e. paper clips, pins, etc.
Drying 16 0 If requir ed, select the buttons SPECIAL CARE or AUDIBLE SIGNAL. • SPECIAL CARE button This progr amme oper ates with reduced heat. Pr ess the SP E C I A L C A R E bu t t o n for fabrics bearing the care symbol S . Gentle drying is advisa- ble for heat-sensitive fabrics (such as acrylic and viscose).
Drying 17 Removing laundry or load ing laundry when necessary Y ou can interrupt the drying process at any time to r emove some of the laundry or to add more laundry . 0 Open the door . 1 Caution! The laundry and the drum may be hot. 0 Remove or add more laundry .
Drying 18 Clean the fluff filter To ensur e efficient oper ation of the tumble dryer , clean the fluff filter after each drying progr amme. Also check whether there ar e any r e mnants or fluff from the washing in the drum; r emove immediately . 0 Press the catch of the filter lid down- wards.

21 A small glossary of textile information Car e symbols Ensure articles to be dried ar e suit able for tumble drying. If they are one of the following symbols should be present on the care label: R Normal drying S Dry ing with specia l care ( pres s the SPECIAL CARE button!) Q This fabric can be tumble dried.
22 Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning the filter ar ea 1 Important! When the CL EAN FIL TER displa y lights, it is essential to clean the fluff filter . Otherwise your dryer might suffer damage. A small amount of fluff may reach the ar ea ar ound the filter in spite of the fluff filter .
Cleaning and maintenance 23 Cleaning the drum 1 War n i n g ! Do not clean the stainless st eel drum with abrasive deter- gents or steel wool! Fabric softener s or lime in the wate r can cause a scar cely visible deposit to form on the drum. The dryer is then no longer reliably able to recognise how dry the washing is.

33 Door Reversal Instructions Reversal Instructions The door opening direction can be changed if r equired. 1 War n in g ! Before rever sing the door , isolate the appliance from the mains supply . Proceed as follows to r everse the door opening dir ection: 0 Unscrew the scr ews A on the fr ont panel of the appliance.
Door Reversal Instructions 34 0 Take-out the latched catch covering J and pull-off the plug. 0 Connect the door catch H and the catch covering J on the respective opposite side to the plug, insert into the hole and screw-down or latch into position.
35 Site Pr epar ation • The install ation surface must be clean and dry . • Do not install on a deep pile carpet. • If the appliance is installed next to a heat source (e. g. cooking appliance), a heat insulation pa d (85 x 57 cm) must be placed between the washing machine and the heat source.
36 Ve n t i n g The appliance expels hot, moist air which must be able to flow freely from the tumble dryer vent. T umble Dryer V ents The most efficient way of venting the expelled air is via a vent hose through to the out side.
Venting 37 V enting through a V ent Hose The vent hose expelling the hot air should have a 1 00 mm diameter and be no longer than 4 meters. Avoid bends in the vent hose as this will reduce the air flow . The maximum length of the vent hose may be: 4 meters with 0 bends, or 2 meters with 2 bends.
38 V enting without a Vent Hose If a vent hose is not connected to the tumble dryer , the air can be expelled into the room wher e the a ppliance is located providing the following precautions ar e observed. • The ve nt(s) in use must be at leas t 30 cm from the wall or any other object.
