6 Instruction booklet Safety information Prior to using for the fir st time • The safety of AEG/ELECTROLUX appliances complies with the industry standar ds and with legal requir ements on the safety of appliances . However , as manufactur ers , we feel it is our duty to pr ovide the following safety notes.
7 • Do not use your washing machine to wash articles with whalebones , material without hems or torn material. • Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply after use, cleaning and maintenance. • Under no cir cumstances should you attempt to repair the machine your self.
• Garments which have been in contact with volatile petroleum pr oducts should not be machine washed. If volatile cleaning fluids ar e used, care should be taken to ensur e that the fluid is removed fr om the garment befor e placing in the machine.
9 Product description Pr oduct description Y our new appliance meets all modern r equir ements for effective treatment of laundry with low water , ener gy and detergent consumption. The N N e e w w j j e e t t system allows total use of deter gent and reduces water consumption ther efore saving ener gy .
Contr ol panel Below is a pictur e of the control panel. It shows the pr ogr amme selector dial as well as the buttons , pilot lights and the display .
Display (9) T emperatur e indicator and COLD symbol Spin Speed indicator , RINSE HOLD , NIGHT CYCLE - symbols Pr ogramme pr ogr ess display: PREWASH , MAIN W ASH , RINSE , SPIN , DRAIN , OVERDOSAGE The pr ogramme pr ogr ess display shows the washing phases of the selected pr ogramme.
The display shows the following information: Dur ation of the selected progr amme After selecting a pr ogramme, the dur ation is displayed in hour s and minutes (for example 2.05 ). The duration is calculated automatically on the basis of the maximum r ecommended load for each type of fabric.
13 Use Fir st Use Ensur e that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions . Remove the polystyr ene block and any material from the drum. Run a cotton cycle at 95°C, without any laundry in the machine, to r emove any manufacturing r esidue from the drum and tub .
14 Use Daily Use Load the laundry 1. Open the door by car efully pulling the door handle outwar ds. Place the laundry in the drum, one item at a time, shaking them out as much as possible. 2. Close the door firmly . Y ou must hear a click during closing.
15 Use Select the r equir ed progr amme by turning the progr amme selector dial (1) Y ou can choose the right pr ogr amme for any type of laundry following the descriptions on the washing pr ogramme tables (see «W ashing Pr ogrammes»). T urn the progr amme selector dial to the r equired pr ogr amme.
16 Use RINSE HOLD: by selecting this option the water of the last rinse is not emptied out to pr event the fabrics from cr easing. At the end of the pr ogramme, 0 and RINSE HOLD symbol appear on the d.
17 Use PREW ASH option Select this option if you wish your laundry to be pr ewashed at 30°C before the main wash. The Pr ewash ends with a short spin in progr ammes for CO TTON and SYNTHETIC fabrics , whereas in the pr ogr ammes for DELICATE fabrics the water is only dr ained.
18 Use SUPER QUICK: by pr essing this button twice, the corresponding symbol r emains alight on the display and you will be able to r educe the washing duration for «lightly soiled laundry». The display will show the r educed washing time. To be used for very lightly soiled laundry only .
19 Use ● Pr ess button 7 : the machine starts its hourly countdown. The progr amme will start after the selected delay has expir ed. Cancelling the delayed start after having started the pr ogramme:.
20 Use At the end of the pr ogr amme The machine stops automatically , the pilot light of button 7 7 pilot light goes off, a blinking 0 appear s on the display and the acoustic signal sounds for some minutes .

24 Delicate washing progr amme suitable for silk and mixed synthetic items. Progr amme information Pr ogr amme information HYGIENE A washing progr amme for white cottons . This progr amme helps to eliminate micro-or ganisms by washing at 60°C and adding an additional rinse.
25 Progr amme information Pr ogr amme information ECONOMY This progr amme can be selected for slightly or normally soiled cotton items. The temper atur e will decrease and the washing time will be extended. This allows you to obtain a good washing efficiency whilst saving energy .
Pr eparing the wash cycle Sorting out the laundry Follow the wash code symbols on each garment label and the manufactur er’s washing instructions . Sort the laundry as follows: whites, colour eds , synthetics, delicates , woollens. T emper atures Befor e loading the laundry Never wash whites and colour eds together .
Maximum loads Recommended loads ar e indicated in the washing progr amme charts . Gener al rules: Cotton, linen: drum full but not too tightly packed; Synthetics: drum no mor e than half full ; Delicate fabrics and woollens: drum no more than one thir d full.
Mould stains: tr eat with bleach, rinse well (whites and fast coloureds only). Gr ass: soap lightly and treat with bleach (whites and fast colour eds only). Ball point pen and glue: moisten with acetone (*), lay the garment on a soft cloth and dab the stain.
Any fabric softener or star ching additives must be poured into the compartment marked befor e starting the wash pr ogramme. Follow the pr oduct manufacturer s’ r ecommendations on quantities to use and do not exceed the «MAX» mark in the deter gent dispenser drawer .
Car e and cleaning Y ou must DISCONNECT the appliance fr om the electricity supply , befor e you can carry out any cleaning or maintenance work. Descaling The water we use normally contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine.
2. Remove the conditioner insert fr om the middle compartment. 3. Clean all parts with water . 4. Put the conditioner insert in as far as it will go, so that it is firmly in place. 5. Clean all parts of the washing ma- chine, especially the nozzles in the top of the washing-in chamber , with a brush.
Dr ain pump The pump should be inspected r egularly and particularly if • the machine does not empty and/or spin • the machine makes an unusual noise during dr aining due to objects such as safety pins , coins etc. blocking the pump. Pr oceed as follows: 1.

Fr ost pr ecautions If the machine is installed in a place wher e the temperatur e could dr op below 0°C, pr oceed as follows: 1. Close the water tap and unscr ew the water inlet hose from the tap. 2. Place the end of the emer gency emptying hose and that of the inlet hose in a bowl placed on the floor and let water dr ain out.
35 What to do if... What to do if... Certain problems ar e due to lack of simple maintenance or over sights, which can be solved easily without calling out an engineer . Before contacting your local Service Centr e, please carry out the checks listed below .
36 Unsatisfactory washing results: T oo little detergent or unsuitable deter gent has been used. • Incr ease the detergent quantity or use another one. Stubborn stains have not been treated prior to washing. • Use commer cial products to tr eat the stubborn stains .

39 Consumption value Consumption value The consumption data shown on this chart is to be consider ed purely indicative, as it may vary depending on the quantity and type of laundry , on the inlet water temper ature and on the ambient temper atur e.
40 Installation Unpacking All tr ansit bolts and packing must be removed befor e using the appliance. Y ou ar e advised to keep all tr ansit devices so that they can be refitted if the machine ever has to be tr ansported again.
4. Unscr ew and remove the two lar ge r ear bolts B and the six smaller bolts C . 5. Remove the br acket D and refit the six smaller bolts C . Slide out the r elevant plastic spacer E. 6. Open the porthole, take out the inlet hose fr om the drum and r emove the polystyrene block fitted on the door seal.
42 P ositioning and levelling Install the machine on a flat har d floor . Make sur e that air circulation ar ound the machine is not impeded by carpets , rugs etc. Befor e placing it on small tiles, apply a rubber coating. Never try to corr ect any unevenness in the floor by putting pieces of wood, car dboard or similar materials under the machine.
3. Set the hose corr ectly by loosening the ring nut. After positioning the inlet hose, be sur e to tighten the ring nut again to pr event leaks. 4. Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thr ead. Always use the hose supplied with the appliance. Installation should comply with local water authority and building r egulations requir ements .
44 the dr ain hose and standpipe. The end of the dr ain hose must always be ventilated , i.e. the inside diameter of the dr ain pipe must be lar ger than the outside diameter of the dr ain hose. If you intend to dr ain the hose from the machine into a sink, make sur e that the sink is empty and the plug hole is not blocked. Use the plastic “U -Piece” sup- plied.
If you fit your own plug, the colour s of the wires in the mains lead of your appliance may not corr espond with the markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pr oceed as follows: Connect the gr een and yellow (earth) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter «E» or the earth symbol or colour ed gr een and yellow .
