Do not allow children to use your mobile phone without supervision. Do not open or attempt to repair your mobile phone y ourself. Only use your telephone with Alcatel batteries, chargers and accessories compatible with your model (see page 70).
Although the SAR was established at the highest certified level, the actual SAR level for the phone during use is generally much lower than the maxim um values. In fact, since mobiles ar e designed to operate at many different po wer levels, they only use the minimum level of pow er required to provide a connection to the network.

3 Calls .................................. 3.1 Making a call Dial the desired number then pr ess the ke y to place the call. T o hang up, press the key . If you mak e a mistake, press the ke y once to remove the last digit. Press and hold the k ey to delete all the digits.
If the access number for your operator’ s voicemail ser vice does not a ppear , dial the number that y ou were giv en. T o program or change this n umber at a later date, refer to “ Call ser vices/V oicemail/Enter n umber: ” (see page 51). To use your voicemail service from abroad, contact your network operator before lea ving.
Handling two calls • Call waiting (1) If a second call comes in while you are on line, you will be notified by a tone and the backlight.Y ou can then accept the call by pressing the ke y.

The directory allows you to store phone n umbers and names (or files) either in the SIM memory and/or the phone memor y (1) .Y ou ma y store up to 100 entries in the phone memory (1) . 6.1 Consulting your dir ectory (2) From the main scr een, press the ke y to access the directory .
6.2.1 SIM Directory When you are in the “ SIM directory ”, select “ Create ”, enter the name and the phone number , then press the to confirm. The created files will be displa yed in alphabetical order . If you mak e a mistake, press the ke y to erase the last character .
6.4 A vailab le options in the phone directory (O T156 only) The following options will be displa yed when the contacts ha ve been created in the phone directory: Details • Display the details of the selected contact (name, phone number , office phone or mobile phone number , etc).
35 7 Messag es ........................ From y our telephone, y ou can read, write, send and r eceive “ SMS messages ” and shar e them with other mobiles. To access the messages from the main scr een, press the top of the ke y or press the key and select the (“ Messages ”) icon.
7.3 Outbox The last written message sav ed is display ed on top of the list. Select the message you want to view and pr ess the key . Press again the key to access the follo wing options: Delete • Delete the message. F orwar d • F orward the message.
39 7.7 SMS CB (Cell Broadcast) These are messages br oadcast over the network (w eather forecast, traffic conditions, etc..). Auto. r eception • Activate /deactivate the automatic display of the programmed SMS CB. CB code list • List of SMS CB codes for messages y ou want to view (“ Create ” or “ CB code list ”).

8.5 Battery saving (O T156 only) Adjust the settings to sav e your battery energy using this menu. By default, the “ Batter y saving ” mode is activated to sa ve your battery . Y ou can also set the duration of the backlighting. 8.6 Ke ys setup Y ou can assign a function or a number that you use frequently , to keys to on the ke ypad.
Change PIN To change the PIN code, enter the old code then the new one when prompted (“ Enter PIN: ” and “ Enter new PIN: ”). The new PIN code is a number consisting of 4 to 8 digits.Y ou must confirm it by entering it again (“ Again please: ”).
9.3 Diary (O T156 only) Y our telephone has a diar y so that you can cr eate and record ev ents such as holidays, meetings or tasks to do. From the “ T ools ” menu, select “ Diary ”, pr ess then select “ Events ”. The following options will be display ed: Create • Select the type of ev ent to be created (Holida ys, Meeting, T o Do).
