4 Important Safety Instructions These warnings ar e provided in the inter ests of your s afety . Ensur e you fully understand them befor e installing or u sing the appliance. 7 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
8 Installation Y our R efriger ator N eeds A ir Integratable models (i-appliances) The integrated door of the furnitur e cabi- net largely seals the installation r ecess. i-appliances must therefor e be provided with ventilation by having an opening in the furniture plinth.
9 Installation Electrical Connection Any electrical work requir ed to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufacturer declines any liability s hould these safety mea- sures not be observed.

12 Prior to Initial Start–Up Please clean the appliance interior and all accessories prior to initial start-up (see section: “Cleaning and Care”). ☞ ACTUAL temperatur e means: The temperatur e display indicates the temperatur e that is currently present in the r efrigerator .

14 Switching O ff the A ppliance To switch off, pr ess the ON/OFF button for approx. 5 seconds. This will result in a countdown fr om "3" to "1" taking place in the temperatur e display . On reaching "1" the fridge will switch off.
15 V ariable Inner Door The door compartments can be pulled up and removed, and inserted at other positions as needed. Interior Accessories 16 Humidity Contr ol On some models, there is an adjustable air grill in fr ont of the shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartments. The opening in the ventilation slots can be adjusted with a slider . Slider in right position: Ventilation slots opened.
17 Corr ect S tor age For physical reasons, ther e are differ ent temperatur e regions in the fridge. The coldest region is on the lowest stor age shelf. Warmer r egions are the top stor- age shelf, the vegetable drawer and the storage compartments on the door .
Freezing and S toring F rozen F ood 18 • Allow warm food to cool down befor e freezing. The warmth will cause increased ice formation and incr ease the power consumption.
19 Pr epar ation of Ice Cubes ☞ 1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water , place it in the fr eezer compartment and leave to freeze. 2. To loosen the fr ozen cubes, either bend the ice cube tray or hold it under running water for a few seconds.
20 Cleaning and Car e For hygienic reasons the appliance interior , including interior acces- sories, should be cleaned regularly . Warning! • The appliance may not be connected to the mains during cleaning.
21 Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. • Do not use any abr asive cleansers. ☞ 1. Remove frozen food and the food fr om the refriger ator . Wr ap frozen food in several layer s of newspaper . Store it in a cool place, well cov- ered.
22 What to do if ... Corr ecting Malfunctions A malfunction may be caused by only a minor fault that you can recti- fy yourself using the following instructions. Do not perform any other work on the appliance if the following information does not provide assistance in your specific case.
What to do if... 23 Symptom P ossible Cau se Remedy Heavy build up of frost, possibly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (possibly after rever sing the door). Carefully warm the leaking sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (on a cool setting).
Noises D uring Oper ation The following noises are char acteristic of refriger ation appliances: • Clicks Whenever the compressor switches on or off, a click can be hear d. • Humming As soon as the compressor is in oper ation, you can hear it humming.

26 T echnical T erminology • Refrigerant Liquids that can be used to a generate a cooling effect ar e known as refriger ants. They have a relatively low boiling-point, indeed so low , that the warmth from the food stor ed in the fridge or freezer can cause the refriger ant to boil and vaporise.
