4 This Owner’ s Guide provides specific operating instructions for your model. Use the refrigerator only as instructed in this Use & Care Manual. Before starting the refrigerator , f ollow these important first steps. LOCA TION • Choose a place that is near a grounded electrical outlet.
5 Installation - Connecting Ice Maker T o W ater Supply T o av oid electric shock , which can cause death or se vere personal injury , disconnect the refrigerator from electrical po wer before connecting a water supply line to the refrigerator . T o A void Pr oper ty Damage: • Copper tubing is recommended for the water suppl y line .
6 Door Removal Instructions DOOR REMO V AL INSTRUCTIONS: If it is necessary to move the refrigerator through narrow doorways, follow these steps to remove the doors. 1. Disconnect electrical supply . 2. Open both doors, then remove toe grille (see page 4 to learn how).

REFRIGERA T OR & FREEZER CONTROLS NOTE: When changing control settings, wait 24 hours before making additional adjustments.
9 T emperature Contr ols OTHER CONTROL FEA TURES TURNING THE COOLING SYSTEM ON AND OFF Y ou can disable the cooling system in y our refr iger ator by pressing the On/Off button located on the left side of the temperature control panel.
10 Looking Inside Ice Cream Shelf ICE CREAM SHELF (SOME MODELS) This shelf attaches to the top of the ice dispenser container . It allows storag e of both round and rectangular car tons of your f av or ite ice cream. T o a void personal injury or pr oper ty damage, handle tempered glass shelves carefully .
11 Looking Inside (continued) DOOR ST ORA GE Door bins and shelves are provided for convenient storage of jars, bottles , and cans. F requently used items can be quickly selected. Some models have door bins that can accommodate gallon- sized plastic drink containers and economy-sized jars and containers.
12 Looking Inside - Special Storage Areas CRISPERS (SOME MODELS) The crispers, located under the bottom refrigerator shelf, are designed for storing fruits, vegetables, and other fresh produce. W ash items in clear water and remov e excess w ater before placing them in the crispers.

14 ICE AND W A TER DISPENSER FEA TURES The ice and water dispenser con veniently dispenses chilled w ater , and ice cubes or cr ushed ice , depending on the model. T o oper ate the ice dispenser , select the ice option desired using the touchpad. Press a glass against the dispensing paddle as far up as possib le to catch all ice.
15 A utomatic Ice and W ater Dispenser IMPORT ANT : When removing or replacing the ice bin, do not rotate the auger in the ice bin. If the auger is accidentally turned, you must realign the auger by turning it in 90° turns until the ice bin fits into place with the drive mechanism.
16 PureSource TM Ice and W ater Filter (some models) NO TE: If y ou purc hased a refrig erator with a PureSour ce TM Ice and W ater filter , please read the follo wing use and care information. This ice and water filter system filters water to y our ice maker and w ater dispenser .
17 Changing the Filter: W ater conditions vary throughout the world, but changing the water filter e ve r y 6 - 9 months nor mally will ensure the highest possib le water quality . The Filter Status light will turn red after approximately 400 gallons of water has flowed through the ice and water dispenser .

19 Normal Operating Sounds & Sights UNDERST ANDING THE SOUNDS YOU MA Y HEAR Y our ne w high-efficiency refr iger ator may mak e unfamiliar sounds. Most often, these are all normal sounds that soon become f amiliar to you. They indicate your refrigerator is operating as designed.
20 Care & Cleaning K eep your refrigerator and freezer clean to pre vent odor b uild-up. Wipe up any spills immediately and clean both sections at least twice a year . Never use metallic scour ing pads , br ushes, abr asive cleaners or strong alkaline solutions on any surface .
