4 Safety PREVENT FIRE Do not dry items that have been previously • cleaned in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, cleaning solvents, kerosene, waxes, etc. Do not store these items on or near the dryer . These substances give off vapors that could ignite or explode.
5 Safety PREVENT INJUR Y T o prevent shock hazar d and assure stability • during operation, the dryer must be installed and electrically grounded by a qualifi ed service person in accordance with local codes. Installa- tion instructions are packed in the dryer for the installer’ s refer ence.

7 Operating Instructions Normal Operating Sounds B C D E A Y ou may or may not hear the following sounds from your new dryer: A. WA TER VAL VE (Steam models only .) The fl ow of water is controlled by electric solenoids. During operation there may be a clicking sound as the valve opens and closes to control the water fl ow .
8 Operating Instructions 3. Load the dryer and close the door . Load items loosely . The average wet load will • fi ll the drum 1/3 to 1/2 full. Items need room to tumble freely for even drying and less wrinkling. If desired, place a dryer fabric softener sheet on • top of the load at the beginning of the cycle.

10 Operating Instructions BULKY/BEDDING Select this Auto Dry cycle to dry bedding and bulky items such as comforters, blankets, sleeping bags and parkas. CASUAL Select this cycle to dry cottons, blends and per - manent press items with a no-ir on fi nish.
11 Operating Instructions DR YING TEMPERA TURE DR YNESS LEVEL (AUTO DR Y) DR YING TIME (TIME DR Y) Cycle Settings The appropriate drying temperatur e will auto- matically be indicated for the cycle selected. NOTE T o change the T emperature once the cycle has begun, press the pause button, make the new selection and press start again.
12 Operating Instructions Suitable options will automatically be indicated when the cycle is selected. T o add options , press the corr esponding options buttons to illuminate the selections desired. T o de- lete options , press the options buttons again and the indicator lights will turn off.
13 Operating Instructions CONTROL LOCK T o lock the controls between cycles, pr ess and hold the control lock button for 5 seconds. Re- peat to unlock the controls when you ar e ready to operate the dryer . Use this feature to reduce the likelihood of accidental operation by children.

15 Car e & Cleaning W ARNING FIRE HAZARD A clothes dryer produces combustible lint. The dryer must be connected to an outdoors exhaust. Regularly inspect the outdoor exhaust opening and remove any accumulation of lint around the opening and in the surr ounding area.
