5 Daily Oper ation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atur es. Ther e is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fir e extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e protected for tr ansport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Disposal of old Appliances For environmental r easons, refriger ation appliances must be disposed of properly .

Temper ature contr ol knob and ON/OFF switch The temperatur e control knob (D) , which is also the appliance’s On-/Off switch. The yellow pilot light (B) comes on when the fast fr eezing button (C) has been operated.
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.
9 The box can be inserted under any door shelf compartment. 1. T o change the position of the stor a- ge box; lift the shelf compartment with the box upwards and out of the holder s in the door and r emove the r etaining br acket out of the guide under the shelf compartment.
10 Fr esh food refriger ation T o obtain the best performance: • do not store warm food or evapor ating liquid in the r efrigeator • do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a str ong flavour . • P osition food so that air can circuiate fr eely round it.
11 • Please note the maximum stor age times specified by the manufacturer . • Thawed foods which have not been pr ocessed further (cooked into meals) may not under any cir cumstances be frozen a second time. • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atur es.
12 Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the dr awers show different types of fr ozen goods. • The numbers indicate stor age times in months for the appr opriate types of frozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indicated sto - r age time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pr e-tr eating befor e fr eezing.
13 W arning! Never use metal tools to scr ape off the frost Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing process other than those r ecommended by the manufactur er . A temperatur e rise of the fr ozen food packs, during defr osting, may shor- ten their safe stor age life.
14 • Many proprietary kitchen surface cleaner s contain chemicals that can attack/damage the plastics used in this appliance. For this r eason it is r ecommended that the outer casing of this appliance is only cleaned with warm water with a little washing-up liqiud added.
15 Heavy build up of frost, possi- bly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (pos- sibly after rever sing the door). Carefully warm the leaking sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (not hotter than approx. 50 °C). At the same time shape the warmed door seal by hand until it sits cor- rectly .
16 If, after carrying out the necessary checks ther e is still a fault with your appliance please contact your local AEG Service For ce Centre. In guarantee cu stomer s s hould ensur e that the suggested check s have been made as the engineer will make a char ge if the fault is not a mechanical or electrical br eakdown.
