5 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Prior to using the appliance for the first time • Follow the “Installation and conn ection instructions” . • If the appliance is deliver ed in th e winter months when ther e are mi- nus temper atures: store the washin g machine at room temper atur e for 24 hour s before usin g for the first time.
6 Gener al safety • Repair s to the washing machine may only be carried out by qualified/ authorised service engineer s. • Never use the appliance when the el ectrical cable is damaged or the control panel, worktop or plinth ar ea ar e damaged to such an extent that the inside of the app liance is openly accessible.

10 Prior to using for the first time Switching on the appliance fo r the first time - setting the language The display is set to English as standa r d in th e factor y . 3 Important: If the display does not show the menu for setting the lan- guage when the appliance is swit ched on, the appliance has been switched on before.
11 Setting the time So that the time and the end of the p r ogram ar e correctly displayed, please check the display and set the curr ent time if necessary .
12 Running a wash cycle Adding deter gent / conditioner Important: Only use deter gents/conditioners that are suitable for use in household washing machines. Add deter gent/condition er in accor dance with the deter gent/condi- tioner manufactur er’s instructions.
13 Softener , wash-care pr oducts to pr eserve the shape of garments , star ch Fill the compartment to no mor e than the MAX indicator . Add water to thick liquid concentr ates in acco r dance with the manufactur er’s in- structions befor e using them.
14 Changing the temper atur e Pr ess the TEMP . key repeat- edly until the desir ed tem- p e ra t u re i s displayed. Changing spin speed/selecting rinse hold Pr ess the RPM key r epeated- ly , until the desired spi n speed or RINSE HOLD is displayed.
15 Opening the door/Loa ding the washing 1. T o open the door: pull the handle on the door . 2. Unfold washing and load it loosely into the machine. Mix large and small items. Attention! Do not get any washing caught between the door and the rubber seal.
16 Setting options Options can be added to a wash cycle that has already been selected. Pr ess the OPTIONS key . The display shows the symb ols for the options. 3 Only the options that can be combined with the cycle that has alr eady been set ar e shown in the display .
17 Pr ewash, Sensitive, Stain, Night Cycle 1. Pr ess the OPTIONS key re- peatedly until the desir ed symbol flashes, e. g., PREW ASH. (With each press of the key , the next symbol flashes – moving from left to right.) 2. Pr ess the OK key . The symbol stops flashing.
18 Setting times Shortened cycles and the delay of th e start time can be set for a wash cycle that has alr eady been selected. Pr ess the TIME key . The display show s the symbols for Time Saving and Delay Start. Time Saving: SHORT or VERY SHORT 1. Pr ess the TIME key repeated- ly , until the SHORT symbol flashes.
19 Delay Start 1. Pr ess the TIME key r epeatedly , until the DELA Y START symbol flashes. 2. Pr ess the OK key . “Start in 0 min” is shown in the display . 3. Pr ess the TIME key repeated- ly , until the display shows the desir ed period by which you want to delay the start, e.
20 Starting a pr ogr amme 1. Check that the water tap is o pen. 2. Pr ess the START/P AUSE key . The pr ogramme is started or it st arts after the time delay set has elapsed. 3 If after pr essing the START/P AUSE key the display shows “Door not Closed”, the door has not been shut properly .
21 W ashing cycle complete / Removing the washing At the end of the cycle a long acoust ic sig nal sounds 3 times (when the SOUND setting is NORMAL or LOW) and the messages “Cycle ended” and “Door openable” appear alternately in the display . 1.
22 Setting the Memory Example: Pr ogramme posi- tion MEMORY 1 is to be giv- en the following pr ogramme combination: LINEN/EASY CARES 40 °C, 800 rpm, with PREW ASH. 1. T urn the progr amme knob to LINEN/EASY CARES. 2. Pr ess the TEMP . key repeatedly , until 40 °C ap pear s in the display .
23 SOUND The volume of the acoustic signal can be selected. 1. T urn the pr ogramme knob to any pr ogramme and pr ess the OPTIONS key r epeatedly until the SETUP symbol flashes. 2. Pr ess the OK key . 3. Pr ess the OPTIONS key repeatedly , until the display shows SOUND.
24 Language 1. T urn the progr amme knob to any progr amme and press the OPTION key r epeatedly until the symbol SETUP flashes. 2. Pr ess the OK key . 3. 25 Contr ast and brightness 1. T urn the pr ogramme knob to any pr ogramme and pr ess the OPTIONS key r epeatedly until the SETUP symbol flashes. 2. Pr ess the OK key . 3. Pr ess the OPTIONS key repeatedly , until the display shows CONTRAST or or BRIGHTNESS.
26 Child safety device If the child safety device has been activated, the door can no longer be shut. Activating the child safety device: Use a coin to turn the knob (on the inside of the door) in a clo ckwise di- r ection as far as it will go.
27 Cleaning and maintenance Important! Do not use furnitur e care pr odu cts or aggressive cleaner s to clean the appliance. Wipe control panel and body with a damp cloth. Cleaning pr ocedur e If you plan to wash mainly at low temper atur e, you should run a hot pr ogramme fr om time to time.
28 Door and rubber collar Regularly check whether deposits or for eign bodie s ar e present in the folds of the rubber collar or on the inside o f the glass door .
29 Display shows: “No inco- ming water/Check tap & Hose” Tap turned off. Turn the tap o n. The filter in the threaded inlet hose fitt ing is blocked. Turn off the tap. Unscrew the hose, take o ut the fil ter and clean it. Water tap is blocked with limescal e or faulty .
30 If the wash r esult is not satisfactory The washing is gr ey and there ar e limescale deposits in the drum • T oo little deter gent was used. • An incorr ect deter gent was used. • Individual stains were not pr e-treated. • The pr ogramme or temper ature was not set properly .
31 Carrying out an emer gency dr ain 1 Wa r n i n g ! Prio r to carrying o ut an em er gency drain, switch off the washing machine and remove the power plug fr om the power point. Wa r n i n g ! The water that comes out of the emergency dr ain hose may be hot.
32 Dr ain pump The dr ain pump is maintenance-fr ee. It is only necessary to open the pump cover if there is a malfunction and water is no longer being pumped out, e.g. if the pump wheel is blocked. Befor e loading the machine, please always ensur e that there are no for- eign bodies present in the pockets or in between the items to be washed.
33 Disposal 2 P ackaging material The packaging materials ar e environmentally friendly and can be r ecy- cled. The plastic components ar e id entified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the pa ckaging materials in the appropriate container at your local waste disposal facilities.

35 Installation and connection instructions 1 Safety information concerning installation • This washing machine cannot be built-in . • Before using for the fir st time, check the appliance for damage sus- tained while it was being tr anspor ted. Do not under any circumstanc- es connect an appliance that is dama ged to the mains.
36 Installing the appliance T ransporting the appliance 1 Wa r n i n g : The washing machine is very heavy . There is a risk of injury . Exer cise care when lifting the appliance. • Do not lay the washing machine on its fr ont nor on its right side (as seen fr om the fr ont).
37 3. Remove both plastic caps sideways. 3 Special spanner A and sealing caps B (2 units) an d C (1 unit) come with the appliance. 4. Use special spanner A to r emove scr ew D and the compression spring. 5. T urn sealing cap C upside down as shown in the illustr ation.

40 P ermanent Connection In the case of a permanent connection it is necessary that you install a double pole switch between the appl iance and the electricity supply (mains), with a minimum gap of 3 mm between the switch contacts and of a type suitable for the requir ed load in compliance with the current electrical r egulations.
41 W ater inlet A 1.35 m long pr essure hose is supplied with the appliance. If a longer inlet hose is r equired, only hoses from th e manufactur er ar e to be used.
42 Wa t e r D ra i n a g e The appliance dr ain hose should hook into a standpipe, the hook in the dr ain hose is formed using the plas tic “U-Piece“ supplied. The standpipe should have an internal diameter of approximately 38 mm (see dia- gr am) thus ensuring there is an ai r br eak between the drain hose and standpipe.
43 Pumping heights of over 1 metr e The washing machine’ s drain pump is ab le to pump water to a hei ght of 1 metre, calculated fr om the surface on which the ap pliance is ins talled. Important! If pumping height is over 1 metre malfunctions and dam- age to the appliance may arise.
