Operating Instructions 10 Contr ol panel Pr ogramme selector The progr amme selector is used to select the type of wash cycle (e.g. level of water , drum move- ment, number of rinse cycles, spin speed) accor ding to the type of washing. OFF Switches the washing machine off; it is switched on at all other positions.
Operating Instructions 11 COTT ONS / LINEN Main cycle for whites/coloureds (c otton/linen) at 30 °C to 95 °C. 2 ENERGY SAVING position : Energy saving progr amme at approx. 67 °C for lightly to normally soiled cottons, increased wash period (not able to be used together with TIME SAVING or STAIN).

Operating Instructions 18 Running a washing cycle Brief instructions A washing cycle consists of the following steps: 0 1. Set the correct washing pr ogramme: – Select the progr amme and temperatur e with the progr amme selector . – Select any progr amme options if re quired.
Operating Instructions 19 Setting the Washing Pr ogr amme 3 See "Progr amme tables" for a suitable programme, corr ect temperatur e and possible progr amme options to suit the type of washing. 0 1. Set the pr ogramme selector to the desired washing pr ogramme with the desired temper ature.

Operating Instructions 23 Starting a wash pr ogramme 0 1. Ensure that the tap has been turned on. 2. Starting a wash pr ogramme: Pr ess the START / PAUSE button The wash progr amme will start, or starts after the countdown of the time delay set.

Operating Instructions 31 What to do if... T rouble Shooting If the appliance is not working correc tly , please carry out the following checks before contacting your local AEG Service Force Centr e.

Operating Instructions 34 The door cannot be opened when the ap- pliance is switche d on. The door is locked due to a high water level or a high temperature.
Operating Instructions 35 If the washing r esults are not satisfactory If the washing turns greyish and limescale deposits are pr esent in the drum • Insufficient detergent has been added. • Incorrect deter gent was used. • Stains were not pr e-treated.
Operating Instructions 36 Carrying out an emer gency emptying • If the washing machine no longer pumps out the water , emergency emptying must be carried out. • If the washing machine is located in a room in which below fr eezing temperatur es might occur , emergenc y emptying must be carried out.
Operating Instructions 37 When the water is completely drained: 6. Push the plug secur ely into the em ergency emptying hose and turn it clockwise to secure it. 7. Replace the emergency emptyi n g hose in its holder . 8. Put on the flap and close. Dr ain pump The drain pump is maintenance free.

Operating Instructions 39 Additional Rinse (RINSE+) The washing machine is set for very economical water consumption. However , for persons who suffer from aller gies to detergents, it can be helpful to rinse with extra water .
Operating Instructions 40 W ater Cooling It may be necessary to cool down the water before pumping it out in order to pr event thermal damage to the plastic dr ainage pipes. 3 The water is cooled down before pumping out at the end of the main washing cycle (by adding cold water).
