Congratulations on the purchase of your new r efrigerator . With proper care, it will pr ovide you with many years of dependable operation. Please read this Use and Car e manual completely before operating your r efrigerator . It contains the necessary information to en sure safe, efficient operation.
Safety W ARNING -For your own safety , read the following instructions before operating your refrigerator . Failur e to follow these instructions may result in personal injury . Destroy or recycle the carton, staples and any plastic packing materials after the refrigerator is unpacked.
Installation The refrigerator should be located away from direct sunlight and heat sources such as registers, radiators or any cooking products. In accordance with ISO standards, your refrigerator is performance rated at Class N, 16°C to 32°C (61°F to 90°F) or at Class ST , 18°C to 38°C (65°F to 100°F).
Operation Before starting the r efrigerator , follow these important steps: • Insert the power cord into a properly grounded electrical receptacle. DO NOT use an extension cord or an adaptor . • If your refrigerator is equipped with an automatic ice maker , see section “AUTO- MA TIC ICE MAKER” for starting procedure.
Ice & W ater Dispenser AUTOMA TIC ICE & W A TER DISPENSER (some models) The ice and water dispenser on the freezer door conveniently dispenses chilled water and ice. T o operate the dispenser , select the ice option desired using the touch pad, and press a glass against the dispensing arm.
Ice & W ater Filter (some models) This ice and water filter system, filters water to your ice maker and water dispenser . It is located in the upper right back corner of the fresh food compartment (see Figure 3). SYSTEM ST ARTUP: Water supply does not need to be turned off.
Ice & W ater Filter continued TO CHANGE REAR FIL TER: (some models) Refer to Figure 3 as needed. It is not necessary to turn the water supply off to change filter . 1. Set ice maker lever (wire signal arm) to the OFF (up) position. 2. Hold filter cup firmly , and unscrew counterclockwise (Figure 3).
Ice & W ater Filter continued TO CHANGE FRONT FIL TER: (some models) Refer to Figure 4 as needed. It is not neces- sary to turn the water supply off to change filter .
Food Storage FRESH FOOD SECTION SHEL VES Y our r efrigerator has the convenience of shelves and storage compartments for a variety of foods and snacks. Refrigerator shelves can be easily adjusted to suit your storage needs. Cantilever shelves are supported at the back of the refrigerator .
Car e and Cleaning It is important to keep your refrigerator clean to prevent bacteria and odor from forming. Remove all food and disconnect the power source before cleaning the interior compart- ment. Always disconnect the service cord from wall before cleaning the r efrigerator .
Hot or Humid Climates HOT OR HUMID CLIMA TES If you are operating your refrigerator in a hot or humid climate it is important to follow these tips. • NEVER store uncovered liquids or food in the refrigerator compartment. This causes excessive moisture to enter the evaporator area and may hamper operation.
Door Removal If it is necessary to move the refrigerator through narrow doorways, follow these steps to remove the refrigerator and freezer doors. Before removing doors, ensure that the freezer contr ol is tur ned to OFF . Remove all food from doors and unplug refrigerator .
Service TIPS TO A VOID A SERVICE CALL Y ou may be able to save a service call by checking the following possible causes FIRST : 1. Ensure that the freezer control knob is at midpoint, not zero. 2. Ensure that the house fuse is not blown or a circuit breaker is not tripped.
