Operating Instructions 10 Contr ol panel Pr ogramme selector The progr amme selector is used to select the washing cycle (for example water level, drum move- ment, number of rinses, spin speed) and the temperatur e ac- cording to the type of washing. OFF Switches the washing machine off, the machine is switched on at all other positions.
Operating Instructions 11 EASY -CARES Main wash cycle for easy-care fabrics (mixed fibr es) at 40 °C to 60 °C. EASY IRON position: Main wash cycle at 40 °C for easy-care fabrics which, after washing with this pr ogramme, only r equire a gentle ir on, if any ironing at all.
Operating Instructions 12 Pr ogramme option buttons The progr amme options buttons are used to adapt the washing progr amme to suit the degree of soil- ing of the washing. The progr amme options are not needed for normally soiled washing. The different functions can be combined together depending on the progr amme.

Operating Instructions 17 Running a washing cycle Brief instructions A washing cycle consists of the following steps: 0 1. Set the correct washing pr ogramme: – Select the progr amme and temperature with the pr ogramme selector . – Select any progr amme options if requir ed.
Operating Instructions 18 Setting the Washing Pr ogr amme 3 See "Progr amme tables" for a suitable programme, corr ect temperatur e and possible progr amme options to suit the type of washing. 0 1. Set the pr ogramme selector to the desired washing pr ogramme with the desired temper ature.
Operating Instructions 19 Changing the spin speed /Selecting the rinse hold function If requir ed, change the spin speed for the final spin/select rinse hold: Changing the spin speed 0 Continue pressing the sp in speed/RINSE HOLD but- ton until the indicator for the desired spin speed is illuminated.

Start the washing progr amme: Press the ST ART / PAUSE button The washing progr amme is started or starts at the end of the time delay set. 3 If the DOOR display flashes red when the START / PAUSE button is pressed, the door is not pr operly closed.

Do not use househol d furniture polish or abrasive cleaner s to clean panel and operating parts. 0 Wipe over the op er ating panels wi th a damp cloth. Use warm water . Deter gent Dispenser Drawer The detergent dispenser dr awer should be cleaned from time to time.

Operating Instructions 31 Cleaning the dr ain pump P aper clips, nails and so on can sometimes get into the washing ma- chine with th e washing and remain in the drain pump casing. Fluff and strands of fabric can gather on these items and block the drain pump.
Operating Instructions 32 What to do if... T rouble Shooting If the appliance is not working correc tly , please carry out the following checks before contacting your local AEG Service Force Centr e.

Operating Instructions 35 The door cannot be opened when the ap- pliance is switche d on. The door is locked due to a high water level or a high temperature. (the DOOR dis- play is off). Wait unti l the DOOR display lights up green. If it is still necessary to open the door: turn the pr ogramme selector to OFF turn the pro gramme selector to DRAIN.
Operating Instructions 36 If the washing r esults are not satisfactory If the washing turns greyish and limescale deposits are pr esent in the drum • Insufficient detergent has been added. • Incorrect deter gent was used. • Stains were not pr e-treated.
Operating Instructions 37 Carrying out an emer gency emptying • If the washing machine no longer pumps out the water , emergency emptying must be carried out. • If the washing machine is located in a room in which below fr eezing temperatur es might occur , emergenc y emptying must be carried out.
