Operating Instructions 5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Safety Instructions The safety aspects of AEG electrical appliances comply with accepted technical standards and the German Appliance Safety Law.
Operating Instructions 6 • Never place the dishwasher in ope ration if the mains cable, water inlet or drain hose is damaged; or the control panel, work top or plinth area is damaged such that the inside of the appliance is freely accessible.

If the appliance is permanently wired to the mains: remove the fuse. 2 Disposal Disposing of the Pa ckaging Material Dispose of the dishwasher packaging material correctly.

Operating Instructions 9 Control panel Water softener and function button: In addition to the wash pro- gramme marked, it is also possible to adjust the dishwasher's water sof- tener using a combination of these buttons. The 3 lights of the multidisplay can indicate: – the current stage of the selected wash programme.
Operating Instructions 10 Prior to using for the first time Prior to using for the first time, remove all the clips with which the baskets are secured for transport. Then perform the following steps: 0 1. Adjust the water softener 2. Fill with Salt for the Water Softener 3.
Operating Instructions 11 Adjust the water softener to the se tting given in the table that corre- sponds to the hardness of the water in the area where you live. 1 It is only possible to adjust the water hardness setting when a pro- gramme is not running.
Operating Instructions 12 Filling with Salt fo r the Water Softener 1 Use only salt designed for dishwash ers. Never fill the salt container with any another type of salt (e.g . culinary salt) or dishwasher deter- gent as this would irreparably damage the water softener.
Operating Instructions 13 Filling with Rinse Aid Rinse aid is automatically added duri ng the last rinse, ensuring thor- ough rinsing, spot and streak free drying. 1 Only use rinse aid specifically designed for domestic dishwashe rs. Never fill the rinse aid container with any other substance as this would dam- age the appliance.
Operating Instructions 14 Adjusting Rinse Aid Dosing 3 As the dishes are washed rinse aid is released from the disp enser into the wash water. The dose is factory set at 4, and can be adjusted from 1 to 6. Only change the setting if streaks, milky spots or dried on water marks are visible on glasses or crockery.
Operating Instructions 15 Loading Cutlery and Dishes 1 Sponges, household cloths and any obj ect that can absorb water should not be washed in the dishwasher . • Before loading the dishes, you should: – Remove all scraps of food. – Soften remnants of burnt food in pans.
Operating Instructions 16 Loading Cutlery 1 Long bladed knives stored in an upright position are a potential hazard. 1 Long and/or sharp items of cutlery such as carving knives must be positioned horizon tally in the upper basket. 1 Take care when loading or unload- ing sharp items such as knives.
Operating Instructions 17 Loading Pans, Frying Pans and Large Plates Load large and heavily soiled dishes in the lower basket (Plates up to 29cm in diameter).
Operating Instructions 18 Type 3: The right-hand plate inserts in the lower basket can be folded across one another 3 To ease the loading of large items, the two right-hand plate inserts in the lower basket can be folded across one another.
Operating Instructions 19 Loading Cups, Glasses and Coffee Services Load small, delicate items and long pointed cutlery in the upper basket. • Arrange items of crockery on the folding cups racks so that they are offset from each other and water can reach all items.

Operating Instructions 22 Concentrated Detergent Based on their chemical compositio n, dishwasher detergents can be split into two basic types: – conventional , alkaline detergents with caustic components –l o w a l k a l i n e concentrated detergents with natural enzymes.
Operating Instructions 23 Selecting the Wash Progr amme (Programme Table) Choose the most suitable wash program me with the aid of this table: Type of Dishes Dinner Service and Cooking Utensils Dishes.
Operating Instructions 24 Start the wash programme 0 1. Check that when the dishes and cutl ery are loaded in the dishwasher the spray arms are free to rotate. 2. Open the water tap fully. 3. Shut the door. 4. Press the ON/OFF button. ON/OFF button indicator comes on.

If the pa use functio n is initiated during the drying section of the programme I the wash programme is ended. Using the pause function the dish washer can be temporarily stopped: 0 1.
Operating Instructions 26 Switching Off the Dishwasher Switch off the dishwasher when L is illuminated on the programme progress display. 0 1. Press the ON/OFF button M . The ON/OFF button M indicator extin- guishes. 1 Hot steam may escape from the appliance when opening the door immediately after the end of the programme.
Operating Instructions 27 Cleaning the Filter 3 The filters should be checked and cleaned regularly. Dirty filters will give poor wash results. 0 1. Open the door, remove the lower basket. 2. The dishwasher fi lter system com- prises a coarse/fine filter, microfilter and a flat filter.

If you call an engineer to resolve a of fault listed here, or to repair a fault caused by incorrect use or installation, a charge will be made even if the appliance is in guarantee.

In the event of a fault, the safety valve in the appliance immediately interrupts the in flow of water and th e drain pump is activated.
