4 T o the Owner Bef ore operating this projector, read this manual thoroughly and operate the projector properly . This projector provides many conv enient features and functions. Operating the projector proper ly enables you to manage those f eatures and maintains it in better condition f or a considerab le time.
5 Safety Instructions All the safety and operating instructions should be read bef ore the product is operated. Read all of the instructions given here and retain them f or later use. Unplug this projector from AC power supply bef ore cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
6 CA UTION Choose the r unning speed of cooling fans in the fan control setting according to the altitude in which the projector is being used (p.55). Failure to do so may aect the projector life.

18 Basic Operation C o n n e c t t h e p r o j e c t o r ’s AC p ow e r c o r d i n t o a n A C outlet. The PO WER indicator becomes red. Open the lens cov er . Press the POWER ON/ST AND-BY button on the top control or on the remote control. The POWER indicator becomes green and the cooling fans star t to operate.
19 T o Enter a PIN code Select a number by pressing the P oint ed buttons, an d then press the P oint 8 button to fix the number and mov e the pointer .
20 Basic Operation Press the POWER ON/ST AND-BY button on the top control or on the remote control, and a message "P ow er off?" appears on the screen. Press the POWER ON/ST AND-BY button again to tur n off the projector .The POWER indicator star ts to blink red, and the cooling fans keep r unning.
21 Basic Operation How to Operate the On-Screen Men u The projector can be adjusted or set via the On-Screen Menu. Refer to the f ollowing pages regarding each adjustment and setting procedures. Press the P oint 7 8 buttons to select a Menu icon to adjust and press the P oint ed buttons to select an item to adjust.

24 Basic Operation Press the V OLUME+/– buttons on the top control or on the remote control to adjust the v olume. The volume dialog bo x appears on the screen for a f ew seconds . Press the MUTE button on the remote control to temporarily tur n off the sound.

35 Custom Adjust the screen scale and position manually with this function. Press the SELECT button at Custom and the "Custom" is displa yed on the screen f or a fe w seconds and then the Aspect dialog bo x appears. Scale H/V ...............
36 Computer Input When the Digital zoom + is selected, the On-Screen Menu disappears and the message "D . zoom +" is display ed. Press the SELECT button to e xpand the image size. 47 Blue back Press the P oint 7 8 buttons to switch On/Off. When this function is "On", a blue image is display ed while the input signal is not detected. 48 Setting Logo select This function decides the star t-up display as f ollows: User . . . . the image you captured Def ault . . the factory-set logo Off . . . . . countdown only Logo (Logo and Logo PIN code lock settings) This function allows you to customize the screen logo with Logo select, Capture, and Logo PIN code loc k functions.
49 Setting This function prev ents an unauthor ized person from changing the screen logo . Off . . . . . . the screen logo can be changed freely from the Logo select menu. (p .48) On . . . . . . the screen logo cannot be changed without the Logo PIN code.
50 Setting Ceiling When this function is "On", the picture is top/bottom and left/right re v ersed. This function is used to project the image from a ceiling mounting the projector . Rear When this function is "On", the picture is left/right re versed.
51 Setting P ower management F or reducing power consumption as well as maintaining the lamp life , the P ower management function tur ns off the projection lamp when the projector is not used for a cer tain period.
52 Setting Remote control This projector provides two diff erent remote control codes: th e fac t o r y - s et i ni t i a l c o d e ( C o de 1 ) a n d th e s e c o nd a r y code (Code 2). This s witching function prev ents remote control interference when operating se veral projectors or video equipment at the same time.
53 Setting Ke y lock Security (Ke y lock and PIN code lock settings) This function allows y ou to use K ey lock and PIN code loc k function to set the security for the projector oper ation. This function loc ks operation of the top control or the remote control.
54 Setting T o Enter the PIN code Select a number by pressing the P oint e d butt ons. And then press the P oint 8 button to fix the number and move the pointer .
55 Setting This function provides the f ollowing alter nativ es in the cooling f ans' operation after tur ning off the projector . (p.20) L1 . . . . . . nor mal operation L2 . . . . . . s l o w e r a n d l o w e r - s o u n d t h a n t h e n o r m a l operation (L1), but it takes longer to cool the projector down.
56 This function is used to reset the lamp replacement counter . When replacing the projection lamp , reset the lamp replacement counter by using this function.
57 Maintenance and Cleaning The W ARNING indicator shows the state of the function which protects the projector . Check the state of the W ARNING indicator and the PO WER indicator to take proper maintenance. W arning indicator The projector is shut down and the W ARNING indicator is blinking red.
58 Maintenance and Cleaning T ur n off the projector , and disconnect the AC po wer cord from the A C outlet. Remov e the air filter by pulling the latch horizontally . Air filter pre v ent dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector .
59 Maintenance and Cleaning Maintenance and Cleaning Cleaning the Pr ojector Cabinet Softly wipe the projector body with a soft, dr y cleaning cloth. When it is heavily soiled, use a small amount of mild detergent and finish with a soft, dr y cleaning cloth.
60 Maintenance and Cleaning When the lif e of the projection lamp of this projector draws to an end, the LAMP REPLA CE indicator emits a y ellow light. If this indicator lights yellow , replace the lamp with a new one promptly . Lamp Replacement T op Control This indicator is yellow w h e n t h e l i f e o f t h e projection lamp draws to an end.
61 F ollow these steps to replace the lamp . T ur n off the projector and disconnect the AC power cord. Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes . Loosen 3 screws of the lamp with a screwdriver and pull out the lamp upwards ver tically by g rasping the handles.
62 Maintenance and Cleaning Be sure to reset the Lamp replacement counter after the lamp is replaced. When the Lamp replacement counter is reset, the LAMP REPLA CE indicator stops lighting. T ur n the projector on, press the MENU button to displa y the On-Screen Menu.
