4 T o the Owner Before operating this projector , read this manual thoroughly and operate the projector properly . This projector provides many convenient features and functions. Operating the projector properly enables you to manage those features and maintains it in better condition for a consider able time.
5 Safety Instructions All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the product is oper ated. Read all of the instructions given here and retain them for later use. Unplug this projector from AC pow er supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
6 CA UTION Choose the runn ing speed of cooling fans in the fan control setting according to the altitude in which the projector is being used (p.55). Failure to do so may aect the projector life.

13 Installation ✔ Notes: • The brightness in the room has a g reat influence on picture quality . It is recommended to limit ambient lighting in order to obtain the best image. • The values shown belo w are approximate and ma y vary from the actual sizes.
14 T o the AC outlet. (200 - 240 V AC) Installation This projector uses nominal input voltages of 100-120 V or 200-240 V A C. This projector automatically selects the correct input voltage. It is designed to wor k with single-phase power systems ha ving a grounded neutral conductor .

18 Basic Operation C on ne ct t he pr o je ct o r’s AC p ow er co r d i nt o an AC outlet. The PO WER indicator becomes red. Open the lens cov er . Press the POWER ON/ST AND-BY button on the top control or on the remote control. The POWER indicator becomes green and the cooling fans star t to operate.
19 T o Enter a PIN code Select a number by pressing the P oint ed buttons, and then press the P oint 8 button to fix the number and move the pointer . The number changes to " ✳ " .
20 Basic Operation Press the POWER ON/ST AND-BY button on the top control or on the remote control, and a message "P ower off?" appears on the screen. Press the POWER ON/ST AND-BY button again to turn off the projector .The PO WER indicator star ts to blink red, and the cooling f ans keep running.
21 Basic Operation How to Operate the On-Screen Men u The projector can be adjusted or set via the On-Screen Menu. Refer to the following pages regarding each adjustment and setting procedures. Press the P oint 7 8 buttons to select a Menu icon to adjust and press the P oint ed b uttons to select an item to adjust.

24 Basic Operation Press the V OLUME+/– buttons on the top control or on the remote control to adjust the v olume. The volume dialog box appears on the screen f or a f ew seconds. Press the MUTE button on the remote control to temporarily tur n off the sound.

27 Computer Input Computer System Selection This projector automatically tunes to various types of computers based on VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, WXGA, or UXGA with its Multi-scan system and Auto PC Adjustment.

34 Computer Input Store Exit the Image Adjust Menu. Quit T o store the adjusted data, select Store and press the SELECT button. Select a le vel from Image 1 to 4 with the P oint ed b uttons and press the SELECT b utton. A confirmation box appears and then select [Y es].
35 Custom Adjust the screen scale and position manually with this function. Press the SELECT button at Custom and the "Custom" is display ed on the screen for a f ew seconds and then the Aspect dialog box appears . Scale H/V ................
36 Computer Input When the Digital zoom + is selected, the On-Screen Men u disappears and the message "D . zoom +" is displayed. Press the SELECT button to expand the image size. And press the P oint ed 7 8 buttons to pan the image. The P anning function can work only when the image is larger than the screen size.
37 Computer Input Video Input Choose Video by pressing the VIDEO button on the remote control. 44 Video Input This projector has the picture screen resize function, which enab les you to customize the image siz e. Press the MENU button to displa y the On-Screen Menu. Press the P oint 7 8 buttons to move th e red framed pointer to the Screen Menu icon.
45 Setting Press the MENU button to displa y the On-Screen Menu. Press the P oint 7 8 buttons to mov e the re d framed pointer to the Setting Menu icon.
46 Auto setup S e l e c t A u t o s e t u p and this bo x appears. Choose the desired setting for Input search, Auto keystone and Auto PC adj. with the Point 7 8 buttons. This function enables Input search, Auto Ke ystone correction and Auto PC adjustment by pressing the A UT O SETUP button on the top control.
47 Blue back Press the P oint 7 8 b uttons to s witch On/Off. When this function is "On", a blue image is display ed while the input signal is not detected. Keystone This function corrects distor tion of a projected image. Select either Store or Reset with the P oint 7 8 b ut tons, and then press the SELECT button.
48 Setting Logo select This function decides the star t-up displa y as follo ws: User . . . . the image you captured Default . . the factory-set logo Off . . . . . countdown only Logo (Logo and Logo PIN code lock settings) This function allo ws you to customize the screen logo with Logo select, Capture, and Logo PIN code loc k functions.
49 Setting This function prev ents an unauthorized person from changing the screen logo . Off . . . . . . the screen logo can be changed freely from the Logo select menu. (p.48) On . . . . . . the screen logo cannot be changed without the Logo PIN code.
50 Setting Ceiling When this function is "On", the picture is top/bottom and left/right re versed. This function is used to project the image from a ceiling mounting the projector . Rear When this function is "On", the picture is left/right reversed.
51 Setting P ower management For reducing po wer consumption as w ell as maintaining the lamp lif e, the P ower management function tur ns off the projection lamp when the projector is not used f or a cer tain period.
52 Setting Remote control This projector provides two diff erent remote control codes: th e fa cto r y- set in iti al co de (Co de 1) an d t he sec on dar y code (Code 2). This switching function prev ents remote control interference when oper ating se ver al projectors or video equipment at the same time.
53 Setting Key loc k Security (Key loc k and PIN code lock settings) This function allows you to use K ey loc k and PIN code lock function to set the security for the projector operation. This function locks operation of the top control or the remote control.
54 Setting T o Enter the PIN code Select a number b y pressing the Point ed b utto ns. And then press the P oint 8 button to fix the number and move the pointer.
55 Setting This function provides the f ollowing alter nativ es in the cooling fans' oper ation after tur ning off the projector . (p.20) L1 . . . . . . normal operation L2 . . . . . . s l ow e r a n d l o we r - s o u n d t h a n t h e n o r m a l operation (L1), but it takes longer to cool the projector down.
56 This function is used to reset the lamp replacement counter . When replacing the projection lamp, reset the lamp replacement counter by using this function.
57 Maintenance and Cleaning The W ARNING indicator shows the state of the function which protects the projector. Check the state of the W ARNING indicator and the POWER indicator to tak e proper maintenance. W arning indicator The projector is shut down and the W ARNING indicator is blinking red.
58 Maintenance and Cleaning T ur n off the projector , and disconnect the A C power cord from the AC outlet. Remov e the air filter by pulling the latch horizontally . Air filter pre vent dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector .
59 Maintenance and Cleaning Maintenance and Cleaning Cleaning the Projector Cabinet Softly wipe the projector body with a soft, dry cleaning cloth. When it is heavily soiled, use a small amount of mild detergent and finish with a soft, dry cleaning cloth.
60 Maintenance and Cleaning When the life of the projection lamp of this projector draws to an end, the LAMP REPLACE indicator emits a yello w light. If this indicator lights yellow , replace the lamp with a new one promptly . Lamp Replacement T op Control This indicator is yellow w h e n t h e l i f e o f t h e projection lamp draws to an end.
61 Follo w these steps to replace the lamp. T ur n off the projector and disconnect the AC po wer cord. Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. Loosen 3 screws of the lamp with a screwdriver and pull out the lamp upw ards ver tically b y grasping the handles.
62 Maintenance and Cleaning Be sure to reset the Lamp replacement counter after the lamp is replaced. When the Lamp replacement counter is reset, the LAMP REPLACE indicator stops lighting. T ur n the projector on, press the MENU button to display the On-Screen Menu.
