4 Chapter I: Introduc tion 1.1 Package Conten ts Please check the contents of your new Network IP Ca mera when you unp ack the package. If any item is missing, pleas e contact your dea ler of purchase for help.
5 1.2 Hardware Over view Front Item Description Power/Cloud LED When the camera is first turned on, the LED will flash whi le the camera connects t o the cloud. When the LED remains on without flashing , the camera has successful ly connected to the cloud.
6 Back Item Description Mount Connector Attaches to t he enclosed mounting kit, which allows the camera to stand or to hang from a wall or ceiling. WPS/Reset button Hold down the butt on for 2 seconds to start WPS connection mode , or hold it down for 10 seconds to reset the camera to f actory default settings.
7 1.3 Installing the N etwork Came ra Please follow the foll owing instructions to setup your n ew netw ork camera. 1. Remove the camera and i ts accessories from the packagi ng. 2. Review the contents and compa re with the component list. If any components are missi ng, please contact your suppli er.
8 6. After installation, the Power/Cl oud LED will fl ash for 10 to 15 seconds while the camera conne cts to the cloud. When t he LED stops flash ing, the camera has successfully connected t o the cloud.
9 Chapter II: Acces sing the EdiView Fin der Utility 2.1 Edimax Edivie w Installation Packa ge The network came ra package includes a CD -ROM that c ontains the ut ilities and reference manuals to assist in installing, locating and using the network camera.
10 2.2 Installing the Edi view Finder Utility Software 1. Click the Setup Uti lity icon to start the instal lation wizard. 2. Click Next to start th e installation process.
11 3. To set the application inst allation folder: Click Next to use the default value, or Click Browse to s elect a different locati on on your file system.
12 5. The application is ready to inst all. Review the installation sett ings in the information windo w. Click Inst all to continue o r Back to return to th e previous step. 6. The progress of the instal lation is displayed in the following win dow.
13 7. EdiView Finder is install ed. Click Launch EdiView Fin der Util ity if you want to use the application af ter the installation is finished. Cl ick Finish to close the installation window. 2.3 Running EdiVi ew Finder for the Firs t Time Note: Please set your wireless route r or access point to use WPA2- AES encryption.
14 2. The utility automati cally detects the cloud connection. 3. When the utility prompts to confi gure wireless sett ings, Yes to s et up a wireless connection.
15 4. Pick the SSID for the wireless rout er and enter the password. Alternatively, run WPS mode to connect to the wireles s router. Please first make sure your router supp orts WPS.

17 7. Enter a camera name, and enter a password (twice, for confirmati on) for the camera. If no password is entere d, the default 1234 is used. 8. If the setup has been suc cessful, a dialogu e box is show n with a URL for remotely viewing the cam era over the cloud.
18 2.4 Locating Netw ork Cameras on the Network The network came ra comes with a software uti lity, called EdiView Finder, which locates and sets up net work camera(s) on a LAN and d efines a camera s name and password.
19 Connection inform ation for a network camera is displ ayed in each listing under IP Address . Other camera related in formation, such as the camera name, model, and MAC address, is also displayed her e. Previewing a Net work Camera Image To preview an image on a n etwork camera: 1.

21 Chapter III : Configurin g the Surveillance Sof tware 3.1 Configurin g the EdiView Finder Uti lity The EdiView Finde r utility provides the ability to locat e and configure camera(s) on your network.
22 Setting the Interface Lang uage The utility software supports three langua ges: English, traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chi nese. You can select the langua ge to use from the la nguage dropdown menu l ocated in the lower right corner of E diView Finder.

25 3.2 Configuring t he Web-Based Ma nagement Interface 3.2.1 Installing the Web-Based Management Interface Viewing the Web- Based Management Interface The web-based conf iguration interface is viewable on a ny of the modern browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 7 o r higher, Firefox 3.

42 3.2.3.2 Image Appearance Change video image ap pearance settings here. It em Description Brightness / Contrast / Saturation / Sharpness / Hue Change the video s appearance by clicking and dragging the blue lever. Reset to default Click this button to reset all sett ings back to default value s (50).
43 It em Description Motion Detection enable Select Enable to enable motion detection, or Disable to disa ble it. Motion Detection Interval Select the time int erval this camera uses to detects motion. To detect minor m otions, select a shorter time; to ignore minor motions, select a longer time.
44 Disable to disable thi s feature. Detection Region You can set up the areas in the video where the ca mera will detect cha nges in video. Motions ou tside the detection region will be ignored by the c amera, and the camera will do nothing when such motions occur.

57 3.4 Configuring t he Desktop 16 -Chan nel Viewer An alternative to the web -based interface is the de sktop 16-Chann el Viewer software, which of fers the ability to view multiple cameras at once.
