12 Under normal conditions, the icon will be display e d on t he LC D screen af ter inserting the memory card. If the icon is displayed, it means the camer a is using the internal memory . There are four possible reasons for this: The ca mera c annot r ecogn ize the file format of the memory card.

17 T oggle the Mode Dial to the Setup Mode . Se t tin g th e Date/ T i me This camera can record the date and time of th e photogr aph, if the co rre ct date and time are set u p before usin g the camera . Peas e refer to the Setup Mode section for more information (refer to page 20).
18 LCD Sc reen The LCD screen makes it e asy to fr ame the su bject, adjust the set tings, and view the recorded photos and videos. Not e: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cau se the LCD screen to tempor arily darken . This is normal fo r LCD screen and is not permanen t.
19 T oggle the Mode Dial to the Setup Mode . There are 4 major s ections that can be acces sed by pr essin g the righ t arrow k ey: Image S etup , System , S ystem2 and Options. Image Settings Image R esolu tion There are 4 resolu tion settings a v ailable for taking still pictures: 3680x2760, 2592x1944, 2048x1536 an d 1280 x960.
20 EV compensa tion Y ou can adjust th e EV Comp ensation v alue manual ly . All thi ngs being equa l, the higher t he EV compe nsation , the brighte r the phot os. 21 Auto Power Off Off: This will disable auto power off function so that the camera is always on. Note: This c an cause your batteries to dr ain more quickly . 1 Min: The cam era will power off after 60 seconds. T o “wake” the ca mera up , you must close the shutter and t hen reopen it.

35 Reco rdin g Video Y ou can use this camera to record videos (M PEG-4 for mat w ith voice). The length of the recorded video depends on the free spac e of the i nte rna l mem ory /SD card . Moreo ver , th e imag e resol ution , imag e qualit y an d fr ame ra te per second will also affect the length of the r ecorded video.
36 Digit al Z oom Press the top of th e 4-way sc roll button to z oom in or the bottom to zoom out . The maximum z oom is 4X. Menu Press the Menu button to show or hid e the menu items. The options include: Image resolut ion, nu mbers of ima ge per secon d, ima ge qual ity , EV compe nsatio n, etc.

38 Playback Mode T oggle the Mode Dial to the Playb ack Mode . In Pl ayback Mode, us ers can revi ew the re corded pictures, vid eo and a udio . The symbols and functions on the L CD screen are different a ccording to different file formats.

43 Menu If there are images sto red on the memory , you can pres s the Menu button to show/hide the menu items. The menu has three sections: Delete, Fun ction, and Printing Setup (this last one only appe ars if there is an SD c ard inserted). 51 PC Cam era This digital ca mer a can be used as a P C camer a (provides a liv e feed rather tha n recording). After connecting the camera t o the PC, yo u could use the camera as a PC camera (W ebcam) to hold a vide oconference. Note: You cannot transfer files to your PC in this mod e.

55 Installing the Camera Driver for a PC The driver is intended only for older systems NO T running Windows XP or Windows 2000. If you are running Windows XP or 2000, do not install th e driver. If you h ave installed it, you may want to uninstall it.
