The ODS/pilot is a required feature for vent- free heaters. The ODS/pilot shuts off the heater if there is not enough fresh air.

8 103569 VENT -FREE PROP ANE/LP GAS HEA TER BLUE-FLAME CGP20, CGP20L AND RP30D Continued CONNECTING TO GAS SUPPL Y The installer must supply an external regu- lator. The external regulator will reduce incoming gas pressure. You must reduce incoming gas pressure to between 11 and 14 inches of water.
