5 F AILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES MA Y RESUL T IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY . 1 . DO NOT OPERA TE THIS MACHINE UNTIL it is assembled and installed according to the instructions. 2. OBT AIN ADVICE from your supervisor, instructor , or another qualified person if you are not familiar with the operation of this machine.
6 A separate electrical circuit should be used for your machines. This cir cuit should not be less than #12 wire and should be protected with a 20 Amp time lag fuse. If an extension cor d is used, use only 3-wire extension cor ds which have 3- prong gr ounding type plugs and matching receptacle which will accept the machine’ s plug.
7 EXTENSION CORDS Use proper extension cor ds. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition and is a 3-wir e extension cord which has a 3-pr ong grounding type plug and matching receptacle which will accept the machine’ s plug. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current of the machine.
8 UNP ACKING 1. Carefully r emove the machine from the carton. Retain all packing materials until you have inspected and satisfactorily operated the machine. DO NOT OPERA TE THIS MACHINE UNTIL YOU READ AND UNDERST AND THE ENTIRE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. 2.
9 MOVING T ABLE TO THE 0° CUT -OFF POSITION 1. Rotate locking knob (A) Fig. 6 counter -clockwise as far as it will go. Depress lever (B) and r otate table (C) to the 0 ° straight cut-off position, r elease lever (B), and tighten locking knob (A). 2.
10 4. Attach the fence slide support (E) Fig. 7D, to the extension table (B) by using the two 5/16-18 x1 1/4” long hex head screws, 5/16” lockwashers and 5/16” flat washers (F).

17 The T winLaser ™ laser units are mounted in a housing that is fitted into the upper blade guard of the miter saw (Fig. A). The lasers project a beam of light downwar d, along both sides and parallel to the saw blade. This beam of light produces a line- of-cut indicator (a red outline of wher e the saw blade will cut) on the workpiece.

The vertical alignment is set correctly when the lines do not move horizontally (sideways) as the saw head is raised and lowered. If vertical alignment is corr ect jump to “ TO SET LEFT AND RIGHT KERF ADJUSTMENT” .
19 CUTTING ALUMINUM Aluminum extrusions (aluminum screens and storm windows) can easily be cut with your miter saw . When cutting aluminum extrusions, or other sections that can be cut with a saw blade and are within the capacity of the machine, position the material so the blade is cutting through the smallest cr oss-section, as shown in Fig.

21 CUTTING CROWN MOULDING One of the many features of the saw is the ease of cutting cr own moulding. The following is an example of cutting both inside and outside corners on 52°/38° wall angle crown moulding. 1. Move the table to the 31.62° right miter position and lock the table in position.

23 KEEP TOOL CLEAN Periodically blow out all air passages with dry compressed air . Clean all plastic parts with a soft damp cloth. NEVER use solvents to clean plastic parts. They could possibly dissolve or otherwise damage the material. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHILE USING COMPRESSED AIR.
