3 T o power off the projector quic kly , press the P ower button and ho ld for 1 sec ond while the projector’s cooling fans are still ru nning. NOTE: Before you turn on the projector agai n, wait for 60 seconds to allow the internal temperature to stabilize.
Adjusting the Projector Zoom and Focus CAUTION: T o avoid damaging the projector , ensure that the zoom lens and elevator foot are fully retracted before moving the projector or placing the projector in its carrying case. 1 Rotate the zoom tab to zoom in and out.

Installing the Remote Control Batteries NOTE: Remove the batteries from the remote control when not in use. 1 P ress the tab to lift the battery compartment cover . 2 Check the polarity (+/-) marking on the batteri es. 3 Insert the batteries and alig n their polarity correctly accor ding to th e marking in the batter y compartm ent.

Using the On-Screen Display • The projector ha s a multi-langua ge On-Scr een Display (O SD) Menu that can be displayed w ith or witho ut an inp ut sourc e. • Pr ess the Menu button on the control pa nel or the remote co ntrol to enter the Main Menu.
NOTE: The Wireless/USB can be used after t he "Wireless and LAN" option is turned on. INPUT SOURCE WIRELESS/USB The Input Source W ir eless/USB menu allows you to activate the W ireless Display, USB Display, and USB Viewer. W IRELESS D ISPLAY — Pr ess to access the projecto r's W ir eless Guide screen.
BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST The Brightness/Contrast menu allows you adjust the brightness/contrast settings of your projector . B RIGHTNESS — Use and to adjust the brightness of the image. C ONTRAST — Use and to adjust the display contrast. NOTE: If you adjust the settings for Brightness and Contrast the projector automatically switch to Custom mode .
VOLUME The V olume menu allows you adjust th e volume settings of your projector . V OLUME — P ress to increase the volume and to decrease the volume. AUDIO INPUT The Au dio Input menu allows you to select your audio input source. The options are: A udio-A , A udio-B , Audio-C , HDMI, and Wireless/LA N .
I MAGE S ETTINGS ( IN PC M ODE )— Select and press to activate image settings. The image settin gs menu provides the following option s: C OLOR T EMPERATURE — Allows you to adjust the color temperature. The screen appears cooler at higher co lor temperatures and warmer at lower color temperatur es.
C OLOR T EMPERATURE — Allows you to adjust the color temperature. The screen appears cooler at higher co lor temperatures and warmer at lower color temperatur es. When you adjust the values in the Color Ad just menu, the Custom mode is activated. The values are saved in the Custom mode.
D ISPLAY S ETTINGS ( IN PC M ODE )— Select and press to activate display settings. The display settings menu provides the followin g options: H ORIZONTAL P OSITION — P r ess to move the image right and to move the image left. V ERTICAL P OSITION — Pr ess to move the image up and to move the image down.
3D D ISPLAY — Select On to start the 3D display fun ction (default is Off). NOTE: 1. When you want to create a 3D experience, you will need a few other components including: a Computer/Laptop with a 120 Hz signal output quad-buffered graphics card. b "Active" 3D glasses wit h DLP Link™.
D ISPLAY S ETTINGS ( IN V IDEO M ODE )— Select and pre ss to activate display settings. The display settings menu provides the following op tions: A SPECT R ATIO — Allows you to select the aspect ratio to adjust how the image appears. Options ar e: Origin, 16:9, and 4:3.
2. Enable the 3D function when it sa tisfies any of the below-mentioned conditions: a Computer/Laptop with a graphics card, capable of outputting a 120 Hz signal via VGA or HDMI cable.
P ROJECTOR S ETTINGS — Select and press to activate projector settings. The projector settings menu provides the following options: A UTO S OURCE — Select Off (the default) to lock the curr ent input signal. If you press the Source bu tton when the Aut o S ou rc e mode is set to Off , you can manually select the input signal.
S TARTUP S CREEN — Default is Dell logo as wallpaper . Y ou can also select Capture S creen option to capture the scr een display . The following message appears on the screen. NOTE: T o capture a full image, ensure that the input signal connected to the projector is at 1024 x 768 resolution.
Reset items include both computer sources and Video source settings. LAN S ETTINGS — Select and pr ess to activate LAN settings. The LAN settings menu provides the following options: WIRELESS AND LAN— Select Enabled to active the W ireless and LAN function.
c After the setup is complete , press the button to exit. 3. After the IP Address, Subnet Ma sk, Gateway, and DNS is set up, select Store and press button to store the settings. 4. If you select Store without pressing the Enter button, the sy stem will keep the original settings.

Q UICK S HUTDOWN — Select On to turn off the projector with a single press of the P ower button. This function allows the projector to quickly power off with an accelerated fan speed. Slightly higher acoustic noise is e xpected during quick power off.
I NFORMATION — The information menu displays the current 4220 or 4320 projector settings. LANGUAGE Allows you to set the language for the OSD. P ress to activate the Language menu. HELP If you encounter problems with your projector , you can access the help menu for troubleshooting.
Wireless Networking Installation NOTE: Y our computer must have the following minimum sy stem requirements: Operating System: •W i n d o w s Microsoft W indows 2000™ with service pack 4 or later ,.
Enable Wireless on the Projector In order to use your projector wi relessly , you need to complete the steps below: 1 Install the optional wir eless dongle. See "Installing the O ptional W ireless Dongle " on page 11. 2 Connect the power cable to the wall outlet and press the power button.
The Wireless Guide Screen shown below appe ars: NOTE: If wireless connection is disabled, then follow these steps to set up: ADV ANCED SETTINGS J Wireless settings J Wireless J Connected. The image input source will be automatica lly switched to wireless screen when wireless option is selected in this step.
Install the Wireless Applica tion software on Y our Computer 7 Connect your compu ter to the 4220 or 4320 w ireless netw ork. NOTE: • Y our co mputer mu st have wirel ess network function to detect the connection. • When you conne ct to the 4220 or 432 0 wireless netwo rk, you will lose wireless connect ivity with ot her wireless networks.
NOTE: If the web page does not load automatically , enter the IP address (default IP address is 192. 168.100.10) noted from the projector’ s screen in the browser’ s address bar . 9 The 4220 or 4320 W eb Management page opens. F or first time use, click Downlo ad .
11 Click Run to proceed with the one-time i nstallati on of the software. NOTE: Y ou may choose to save the file an d install it at a latter time. T o do this, click Save . NOTE: If you are unable to install the application because of inadequat e rights on the computer , please contact your network administrator .
Launch the Wireless Application Once the installation is complete, the 4220 or 4320 W ir eless Application software will launch and will search for the proj ector automatically . The below scr een appears: Login T o communicate with your project or , enter the Login Code provided in Step 6 of W ir eless Networking Installation, then click OK .

Enable Wireless or LA N on the Proje ctor 1 Connect the power cable and turn on the projector by pre ssing the power button. 2.1 If you choose the LAN connect ion mode, follow the se steps to en able W ireless and LAN function (default is Enabled ): Advanced Settings LAN Settings Wireless and LAN Enabled .
3 Access the Input Source menu, select the Wireless/USB and then select the Wi reless Display on the sub-menu. The W ir eless Guide Screen shown below appears: 4 T ake note of the LOGIN CODE , NETWORK NAME (SSID) , and IP ADDRESS . Y ou will need t hese information to l og in later .
NOTE: If your projector has installed the optional wireless dongle, you can also select the wireless connection. See "W ireless Connection" on pa ge 60.
Launch the Wireless Application 8 Once the installatio n is complete, the program will laun ch automatically . Or you can double- click the i con or on the desktop to start the application. NOTE: 1 If you choose LAN connection mode, click " Skip ".

Managing the Projector From W eb Management Configuring the Network Setting If the projector is co nnected to a network, you can access the projector using a web browser . F or configuring the network setting, r efer to "LAN Sett ings" on page 50.
Download the Wireless Application Software See also "W ir eless Networking Installation" on page 57. Click the Download button of the corresponding ope rating system of your computer .
Conference Control This allows you to host confer ence pr esentations from differ ent sources without using projector cables and lets you control how each presentation will appear on screen. NOTE: Without Conference Play Control, the last user to hit the "Play" button on the application will take control of the full-screen projection.
Managing Properti es Admin An administ rator pa sswor d is r equ ired to access the Admin page . • Admin P assword : Enter the administrator passwor d and then click Log in . The default passwor d is "admin". T o change the password, see "Change P asswords" on page 89.

Network Status See OSD section on page 50. IP Setup • Choose Obtain an IP addr ess automatica lly to assign an IP address to the projector automatically , or Use the following IP address to assign an IP address manually .
SSID: Up to maximum length of 32 characters. Encryption: Y ou can Disable WP A key or select one of 64-bit or 128-bit in ASCII or HEX strin g. Key: If Encryption is enabled, you have to set key value accor ding to the encryption mode you selec ted. R ADIUS Server Setup • Set up the IP address, P ort, and K ey information.
Projection Setup P rojection Setup • Res ol u ti on : Allows you to select the resolution. Options ar e: XGA (1024 x 768) and WXGA (1280 x 800). • Logi n C o de : Select how you want the login code to be generated by the projector . There are thr ee options: • Disable : Logi n code will not be requir ed when loggin g in to the syst em.
Change Passwords This page al lows you to chan ge the administrator password. • Enter New P assword : Enter the new password. • Confi rm New P as sword : Enter the password again and click Apply . NOTE: Contact Dell if you forget your administrator password.
Reset to Default Click the Apply button to restor e the wir eless/network setup to i ts factory default settings. Using Y our Projector 90.
Firmware Upgrade Use the F irmware Upgrade page t o update your projector ’s wire less firmwar e. NOTE: Please disable and enable wireless/net work usin g the OSD to restart the network card for the projector after firmware upgrade is successful. T o start the firmware update, follow these steps: 1 Pre s s Browse to select the file to update.
Projector Control Panel P rojector Information • Projector Status: Ther e ar e five status: Lamp On, Standby , P ower Saving, Cooling, and W arming up. Click Refr es h to refr esh the status and control settings. • Po w e r S a v i n g : P ower Saving can be set to Off, 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes.
Image Control • Operation Mode : Allows you to select the operation mode. The two options are: Normal Mode and ECO Mode. • Pr o j e c t or M od e : Allows you to select the projector mode, depending on how the projector is mounted.
Alert Setting E-mail Ale rt • E-mail Alert: Y ou can set whether to be notified by email (Enable) or not (Disable). • T o/CC/F rom : Y ou can enter email addr ess of sender (F rom) and r ecipients (T o/Cc) to receive notification when an abnormality or warning occurs.

FAQ S: I would like to r emotely access the projector via the Intern et. What is the best setting for the browser? T o have the best setting for the browser , please follow the below steps: 1 Open Control P anel Internet Options General tab Te m p o r a r y I n t e r n e t F i l e s Settings Select Every visit to the pages .
Why am I unable to access the SMTP server? 1 Check with yo ur MIS or netw ork administrator wh ether the SMTP serv er function is open for th e projector and th e IP assigned to the projecto r is allowed to access the SMTP server . The projector ’s SMTP socke t port number is 25, this cannot be changed.
Firewall Configuration and FAQ Q: Why can ’t I access the W eb Management P age? A: Y our computer ’s firewall configurat ion may pr event you from accessing the W eb Management W eb P age.
