Using Y our Projector 15 3 Using Y our Projector T u rning Y our Projector On NOTE: T urn on the projector before you turn on the source. The Power button light blinks blue until pressed. 1 Remove the lens cap. 2 Connect the power cord and a ppropriat e signal cables.
16 Using Y our Projector Adjusting the Projected Image Raising the Projector Height 1 P ress the Elevator button. 2 Raise the projector to the desired display angle , and then release th e button to lock the elevator foot into position. 3 Use the tilt adjustment wheel to fine-tun e the display angle.

20 Using Y our Projector 2 TEMP warning light • A soli d amber TEMP light indicates that the projector , lamp, or lamp driver are over heated. The display au tomatically shu ts down. T urn the display on again after the projector cools down. If th e proble m pers ists, conta ct Dell ™ .

22 Using Y our Projector Using the On-Screen Display The projector has a multi-language On -Screen Display (OSD) that can be displayed with or without a n input source pr esent. T o navigate through the tabs in the Main Menu, pres s the or buttons on your projectors control panel or remote control.
Using Y our Projector 23 adjust the sett ings. T o go back to Main Menu , go to Back tab and press the Enter button on the control panel or the r emote control. T o exit the OSD, go to EXIT tab and pr ess the Enter button or press the Menu button dir ectly on the control panel or the r emote control.
24 Using Y our Projector AUTO-ADJUST Auto Ad just automatically adjusts the projector's FREQUENCY and TRA CKING in PC mode . While Auto Adjustment is in progress, the following message appears on the screen, " Auto Adjustment in Progress... ".
Using Y our Projector 25 – Component cable (720p /1080i/1080p) P ROJECTOR I NFO — Displays the projector model name , the present input source and projector series number (PPID#). PICTURE (in PC Mode) Using the Pi ct ur e menu, you can adjust the display settings of your projectors .
26 Using Y our Projector PICTURE (in V ideo Mode) Using the Pi ct ur e menu, you can adjust the display settings of your projectors . The Pictur e menu, provides the following options: B RIGHTNESS — Use and to adjust the brightness of the i mage. C ONTRAST — Use and to adjust the display cont rast.
Using Y our Projector 27 DISPLA Y (in PC Mode) Using the Display menu, you can adjust the display settings of your projectors. The Pict ure menu, provides the following options: V ID EO M ODE — Allo.
28 Using Y our Projector F REQUENCY — Allows you to change the display data clock frequency to match the frequency of your computer graphics ca rd. If you see a vertical flickering wave, use Fr e q u e n c y control to minimize the bars. This is a coarse adjustment.
Using Y our Projector 29 LAMP Using the Lamp menu, you can adjust the display settings of your projectors. The Pictur e menu, provides the following options: L AMP H OUR — Displays the operating hours since the last lamp timer r eset. P OWER S AVING — Select Y es to set the P ower Saving delay period.

Using Y our Projector 31 OTHERS V OLUME — P r ess and to decrease/incr ease the volume. M UTE — Allows you to mute the sound. C USTOMIZED S CRE EN — P ress Enter to pop up a Customized Screen menu. Input in a source at native resolution then press Enter and select "Y es".
32 Using Y our Projector P ASSWORD — When P assword P rotect is enable d, a P assword P rotect screen requesting you to enter a passwor d will be displa yed when the power plug is inserted into the electrical outlet an d the power f or the projector is first turned on.
Using Y our Projector 33 2 If you have entered incorrect passwor d, you will be given another 2 chances. After the three invalid attempts, the projector will automatically turn off. NOTE: If you forget your password, con tact DELL™ or qualified service personnel.

Glossary 45 Appendix: Glossary ANSI L UMENS — A standard for measuring the brightness. It is calculated by dividing a square meter image into nine equal r ectangles, measuring the lux (or brightness) reading at the center of ea ch rectangle, and averaging these nine points.
